NewEgg.com is a great place to buy parts. You can get them much cheaper than normal stores, and I've always had very good luck with them. They ship parts fairly fast, too.

Anyway, based on a few computers that I have built, here are my recommendations for your parts:
  • HARD DRIVE: Anything by Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor, or Samsung is good. I've been considering another 80GB drive for my PC, and the Samsung SP0802N seems good.
  • When it comes to motherboards, I highly recommend Asus motherboards. I have the K8N4-E with an AMD Semprom 3100+. If you can afford it, you should probably go with an AMD Socket 939 processor (I highly recommend any of the AMD 64-bit processors), but they're usually pricey; Socket 754 is good, too.
  • GRAPHICS CARD: I'm not an expert on nVidia cards. If you go for ATI, the 9600 XT is a good AGP card; the X300 is a good PCI-e card. If you're doing any sort of gaming, you probably want at least a 128 MB card (but 256MB is probably overkill right now).
  • DVD BURNER: I have this Sony drive and I have had no problems with it yet.
  • FLOPPY DRIVE: No ideas on this one. I didn't bother putting a floppy drive in my computer when I built it, and I've had no issues yet. Floppy drives are rapidly becoming obsolete.
  • EXTRA FANS: I have one case fan on my computer (aside from the processor/motherboard fan, of course). My processor runs at a temperature of about 33 degrees Celsius, out of its max of 72 degrees. You might not need extra fans unless you're overclocking or doing something really intense with your computer.
Don't forget to buy things like a case and an operating system (unless you are going with Linux, but I guess you probably aren't if you are doing gaming with it).

Ive Been to NewEgg lots of times, i just wanted to see if people would pick another site over it hehe.

for the DVD burner i like NEC.
For the HD i like This Maxtor
Both motherboard and processor is good, im not really an expert in that section, one question is it 3.2 ghz or more? cause i want at least 3.2 ghz
For Fan i picked this because its compatible with This Nvidia GEForce 6600 gt
I already have an OS cd ready and a case.

I don't know of any AMD processors that operate at greater than 3.2 GHz; I imagine that if any do, they are over $1000 per processor, though, since the 2.6 GHz AMD 64's are about $825 a piece.

However, you can't easily compare AMD clock speeds with Intel clock speeds. A 2.0 GHz AMD processor is pretty fast, even though it seems to be much slower than an Intel processor.

You haven't installed that copy of the OS on any other computers, have you? Because Microsoft doesn't like that, and they can tell, by your hardware profile.

Right on. An Athlon XP 2000+ is supposedly comparable to a Pentium 4 running at 2.0 ghz. An Athlong 3000+ is supposedly comparable to a Pentium 4 running at 3.0 ghz. Once the numbers got too high, AMD named their chips FX, because there were no Pentium 4.0 ghz. http://anandtech.com is a great place for reviews.

What form factor is the case? ATX? mATX? Because this will decide what mother board you need to get.
