i live in florida so a tan is a must-- the beach is just yards away! i lay out on tha beach or by the pool and use that new jergens natural glow lotion.
do you tan? use the tanning bed? spray-on booth? from a bottle? lay out?

I have what some people like to call the 'year-round' tan.

Italian people rule.

EVERYONE goes tanning. Instead of friends going to the mall together, you hear about how they went tanning. Crap. crap crap. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that!

tans are a MUST where i live. but i dont use oil or anything. i can tan easely without it. oil is the worst thing you can do to your skin. some people say, "Oh i'll stop worshiping the sun when i'm around 25." well most skin damage is done at age 18 and under. my dad had really bad skin cancer, and thats not going to happen to me.

a majority of the people here in hawaii are naturally brown, because of race obviously.

trendy where i live? - well, we can't get away from it, unless you dont go outside.

amen to that.

and tanning oil is not bad. really, i asked my dermatologist and he said it was fine as long as it was used sparingly and it was the kind with a bit of spf 15.

The beach is too far away so only like 2 or 3 kids in my school get tans. But it looks "maddd" nasty because you see all the tan lines. Okay, not nasty just too obvious its fake skin color.

i still haven't found a place where being tan ISN'T trendy.
unfortunately it's kinda hard for me to tan.
I use the jergen's stuff, it's pretty good and giving you that sun-kissed glow, it just takes a long time.
but older women do the whole spray-ten thing where i live.
so ya...
i wish i tanned easier. i feel like paper next to some of the girls at my school (to cassie: *cough*tori w.*cough*leah*cough*)

haha, i think tanning is a trend for anybody, everywhere.

personally, it makes you look fake. i love it when girls use the tanning bed and literally look mexican when their natural color is white. they look so ugly.

im chinese, but my skin isnt the traidtion pretty/pale asian skin. they all use umbrellas in china to cover themselves but once i moved out here when i was 3, that kinda stopped for me. so my "natural" color is a lot darker than what it would be if i still lived back there. so, my skin tans really easily and it doesnt burn. actually, ive never had a sunburn..ever. i dont try to tan, but when im swimming, my skin somehow tans from the rays hitting the water in the pool or something..so i tan even when im trying not to.

I got a spray tan for my dads wedding. I looked REALLY different.
It was kind of a hate it or love it thing. people either said "WOW YOU LOOK SO PRETTY!" or "ew.. I liked you better pale"
Either way, just thought I'd share that.

We just get tanned here in Australia........ sunny every freakin day........... when its autumn, its still 25 or more degrees celcius......

but today was freezing..... so I guess the proper weather's finally starting to kick in!

its natural here in australia, majority of ppl here don't need to go for a fake one.

i really dont like it when people have really fake tans and they look orange. and i also dont like it when really blond girls have tans, if your skin is darker than your skin then somethings wrong. i think the only people who look good with tans are people who are naturally dark.

I actually really like my really really light skin. It's one of my best characteristics, and I wouldn't ruin it with an ugly orange tan. Ever.

Yeah, it's pretty trendy. Tans are way, way overrated. They can have their skin cancer, I don't want it.

I'm from Borneo, we have a variety of tan degrees and weird enough people here want to look as pale as possible. I'm well tan I guess but I think I'm dark but some people say I'm the fairest ;) hahahah~ It's usually common to be labelled (East Malaysians) "fair" by the West Malaysians. It's just a general view of course there are fair people in West Malaysians. What's even better since more foreigners are pouring in each day, the variety of skin colour is just amazing. You guys should really come here (East or West Malaysia) :)

Well of course if you go to the Eastern part of Malaysia you get to booze with me (freely).

Just how you make "fake tans" anyway?...

i know so many girl who cook themselves all the time is sad. I live in texas so its hot enough, but peple voluntarily put themselves in a microwave. And i think it looks rediculous when white girls walk around darker than me. And yeah sure im not that dark, but there are some who look like black people. I'm like come on. U got blue eyes..you look like an alien. And theyre EVERYWHERE

I'm half italian so I have a year round tan too =]
I live in Illinois and a tan is very important. For those that don't have a year round tan here, they go to tanning salons. I admit I have been to one before, just once. Although my friends go on a weekly basis.

QUOTE(aznxdreamer @ Apr 3 2006, 12:26 AM) *
i really dont like it when people have really fake tans and they look orange. and i also dont like it when really blond girls have tans, if your skin is darker than your skin then somethings wrong. i think the only people who look good with tans are people who are naturally dark.

I have blond hair and I am naturally tan.

In Hong Kong, light and radiant skin is much more treasured than tanned skin for girls. So, I don't think it's trendy here.

At my school it is. Idk what it is, but the older you get (late teens, early-mid 20's) the more urgent need these women feel to have a tan.

I'm from a tropical island. I'm supposed to be naturally tan like my father and brother, but I'm actually very fair, like my mother. Eh. In some ways I wish I was darker, but I guess that this just means I'm more "unique". Hehe.

I think it's more "demanded" in high school to fit in more ya know?
I don't go tanning but I get darker from hours outside thanks to track.
I don't tan well though, my skin get pink/red not tan & it's not burnt either.

In MA tans aren't really a big issue. Unless you're completely white. I'm actually naturally tan, so it doesn't concern me :)
