Have you ever skipped a grade or been held back? Surprising that the topic hasn't been made before - I searched.

I skipped grade two, I think it was; something easy. Yeah, that makes me a young junior. happy.gif

Everyone out here thinks I did.. considering I started school way earlier than kentucky's standars, but in California, I was fine. I'm just not smart enough.

When I was in first grade, they gave me the choice to skip up to the third grade. I didn't say "yes," however.
I regret not doing it, but I said "no" because I had already made some friends and then I wouldn't see them much if I was suddenly two grades ahead of them.

Meh. Now that I think about it... I should've said "yes." sad.gif
I would be going into eleventh grade now instead of ninth.

^Don't regret it because there was a kid in my English class who was supposed to be in 7th grade (I'm in 9th) and he has like no friends. So if you skipped the grades, you might not have had as many friends..

i was CLOSE to skipping 1st grade. they were really highly considering it. then we moved here, and we looked around and all the kids were way bigger than me - even the ones in my grade. and they were all older too. i'm young and have a late birthday for MY grade, so they figured it'd be really weird if they moved me up. now i'm taller than some of the people in my grade...still young though. some people in my grade are turning 16 this summer, and i JUST turned 15.

That is SO dumb. mellow.gif

I'm kind of on the young side of my grade as well. My birthday is at the very end of July, and I'll be fourteen then, but basically all of the people in my grade are already fourteen or even fifteen, so if I did skip a grade or two like I could have, I would be really young.

I've never skipped or been held back. I don't think I'd want to skip because you're not with people your age. I take honors classes with people that are juniors and seniors and that's still kind of weird.
