Hey, I just saw an original episode of Power Rangers, and I looked at the colors and the people. And I noticed that the asian is yellow, the black guy is black, the jew is blue, the jock is red, and the valley girl is pink. Isn't that ironic, with all the stereotypes now?

Yeah, that is pretty interesting. Power Rangers rocks, but -sigh- I need to watch some more episodes. Their fighting moves are corny, but the red ranger Jason ish hawtness.

If you think "politically correct," then yes, that could be true, but I'm sure it's a coincidence.

When the show first came out, I was about ten or eleven (not sure...). Race and colors were not something I worried about when it came to watching the show.

Dumbass, It was no coincidence.

I've noticed this too, the original power rangers about the black is black, yellow is yellow and etc. Frankly, if they were going to do this, they should have just given them like a mask. No need to waste money on a suit, if its the same color.
Also have you noticed, that the asian girl is really smart, and the black guy can dance well?

THose are other 2 racist-like things.

Yeah, What about Good Charlette, i bet they weren't as good as the power rangers, hell not even as half good. Damn 11 year olds.

Power rangers, was and still is the shit. The original and a couple of the new ones after that atleast.

THe best episode, is when they get all the red rangers from the previous series together. There were like 19 of them, from each of the old ones and such.

Don't you mean stereotype? Why would depicting the Asian girl as smart or the Black guy being able to dance well be racist? huh.gif

You don't know your stereotypes well.
Stereotype is that Asian people are supposed to be really smart.
The other black stereotype is that they can dance and rap very well.
News flash, not all asians are smart and not all black people can rap and/or dance.

Also, Stereotypes are racist terms

No offense, but you look like the dumbass, with your post.

The coloring could be subliminal racist messages, but you don't really know.
Noone knows except the person(s) who created the power rangers, and gave them their colors.

The politically correct thing to say/do would to just be "It's a coincidence," instead of possibly offending people.

THe reason i called her/him a dumbass is because they were using corny, unneeded sarcasmic, words.
They typed like a 10 year old, which im guessing they are.

(Also, If sarcasmic isn't a word, replace it with whatever you feel like.)

I never ever really noticed that power rangers was being racist. I think this must be purely a coincidence because when they changed the cast, they replaced the black guy with a black girl and she was the yellow ranger so honestly I see nothing racist about it. Out of all honesty I doubt that Zach(Black Ranger) would have fitted any better in another suit besides black.

There was also a green ranger, so realistically what race does green come from?

You don't know your definitions well. Explain to me how saying Asian people are smart racist. Explain. Oh, and please don't bother telling me things I already know, but do refer me to an honest to goodness dictionary that will define the word stereoptype as racist. rolleyes.gif That's right, you can't. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that you're wrong?

It's not racism first of all. And I don't believe it's a coincidence. I heard someone say this before, and something like this is not fit for a coincidence. Is it a coincidence that people associate Asians with yellow so the Asian ranger is yellow, the black ranger is black and so on?

.. Power Rangers is as racist as Captain Planet is. The writers seemingly just wanted to represent all ethnic groups and the colors so-happened to match.

That's not racist. Racism is when you discriminate someone because of their race. There's nothing wrong with making them have specific colors, but I think it's pretty stupid. No one watches Power Rangers anyway, so who cares? ermm.gif
