This would be best in Technology. You may have downloaded a virus. Do you have virus scan?

Basically, when IE or FF tells you that you're installing an ActiveX thing from a site that supposidly gives you free music/movies/programs, you just got yourself a virus/mighty spyware.

I suggest you use the WindowsXP System Restore program and restore your computer to before you did this. Hope this helps.

Well first I'd disable ActiveX (Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options I think). Then, I would scan for viruses and spyware. What exactly is your computer doing that's making it act wierd?

visualfusion: where do i go in my Programs to open the restore thing?

ryanoman: everytime i open internet explorer, a few minutes pass and then this popup saying that internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close down shows up.
