You know the board statistics that are on the bottom of the webpage when you browse through here?

We should have it in every part of the forum (other forums have it), like on the bottom of each thread and subforums so we can know whos either reading/replying on each topic/thread.

I'm curious: Why do you want to know who is in a particular thread either reading/replying?

That sounds to me like an invasion of privacy. I don't get the point of this though.

Why not just wait until you see someone has replied instead?
Who cares if someone else is not reading/replying; Just post what you need to, and that's that.

^ uhh.. is your keyboard working properly?! huh.gif

well, yeah. I agree with Mona. Sort of does sound like an invasion of privacy. I, too, don't get what's really the point. blink.gif I think it's fine without it. A lot of people dont have to read and reply, but also see WHO is reading/replying. There's no point. I never saw a point in that, anyways.

HAHA...Nicole is typing in the dark. She stated that in the cB hiring thread. And as far as having the board statistics in each forum so people can constantly see where people are at, I dont really see the point. There are better things you could be doing on cB than seeing whether someone is/or is not posting in a thread.

Seeing who is viewing/replying in a thread is not an invasion of privacy, it's not threatening at all.

At the main index of the forum, there's a statistics log of who is currently online, yet noone has seemed to compare that to being "an invasion of privacy."

Besides, this is an message board on the internet... Your information is posted publically in your profile; I think that's far "worse" then someone knowing what thread you're reading/replying.

How is it not? It's no one else's business what thread you are viewing. Replying to a thread is your decision and that's another matter.

At least it doesn't tell you which thread that person is viewing. It's helpful in that if you have to contact anyone especially a mod, you can see it in the Board Statistics. You don't have to go searching for their username to look at their profile to see whether or not they are online.

You can only put in your profile what you want to. You don't have to put anything in it if you choose not to.

whenever you are viewing the board index, if you click on someone's username, it will tell you which thread or forum they are viewing. ;x

Yes, but that is if you actually click on the username. The Board Statistics itself does not tell you that.

It's a stupid little script showing who is in a thread and/or replying.
It's not anything to feel threatened over, nor is it an invasion.

If it really was an "invasion of privacy," do you really think that Invision Board would have implemented that snippet of code into the forum script? No.

Be logical--it's just showing online in seperate threads, much like the board statistic on the main index.
