I hope this has not been posted, but I was wondering if it's like, "fine" if you wear a suit instead of tux to prom.

if you'll date will allow it. lol i wouldn't mind if my date did that as long as the suit was, you know, like nice looking. =)

I really wouldn't care if they wore a suit to prom. I wouldn't mind at all. If the suit looks nice, then I'd allow it. A tux is a bit more traditional, though.

I think suits are fine, as long as they're tastefully done...that's not to say all tuxedos are exactly sophisticated either. I wouldn't mind what my date wore, as long as it was appropriate...

what exactly is the difference between a tux and a suit? that a tux has the vest and the shiny collar things? huh.gif

My mom, ahem, says that tux are like longer..but I dont know, I myself cant even dress on regular occassion, jk, but I'll ask my date.

There were people at my prom who had regular tuxes. I would check with your date first though. They might freak out.

Whatever you want, but also make sure with your date. All i say is, if you look good in them, why does it matter?
