i got this message from somebody:

"this was cool, check it out"

It was a link to some .exe file that was hosted somewhere, I think its a virus. When you get that message sent to you, it gets sent to everybody on your buddylist. I haven't clicked the link. But it will spread fast. Be wary.

I got something like that fron Pauline last night. Except it was Check out my Pictures I had to explain what happened to about 9 people I didn't know/ talk to anymore. Gosh. It screwed up my AIM and everyone else that clicked it. It caused a computer crash on my friend Kyle's computer.

Be warned! DON'T CLICK.

Whew. Good thing I haven't used my AIM or MSN in a while. It goes through MSN a lot more than it does on AIM, but I never click on any of those.

they have it on msn too. except it's like this: "hot picture [link] check it out" and if you click it (which i had once) gazillions of popups come out and you can't stop it unless you restart your computer. and then, it goes sends the same thing out to everyone on your buddy list.

Ahaha. I clicked it because my crush gave it to me. So I easily fell for it. Now, I've been getting "Look at my pictures" or something like that now. Oh how I wished I was warned. Haha. Now I have like 30 ad-aware scans going.

I had "this is SO cool! click it now!" but I'm the kind of person who looks at the link first. so i did.. "shower the hyperlink" and I clicked it out of curiousity. Blah. then it was something to save and so I exited it quickly.

I never click links sent to me by people I don't know, but this way rather funny. I got the virus link sent to me last night through aim, but it wasn't on my computer... it sent it to my mobile AIM on my cell, where I don't have 'net access and couldn't have clicked even if I wanted to.

I got this on MSN. It's easy to get rid of, just run Norton and it'll get rid of it...

If you don't have an anti-virus program, then try this: http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/acti...n_principal.htm

It's an online virus scanner, it'll get rid of it in a jiffy.

haha my friend clicked that thing! Actually, there have been various different aim viruses... I mean, there's been other ones like "Hey, look at [u]this[/i]!" in the aim profile (buddy info) lol. Now it's one that actually sends messages.. more effective, but terrible! >_<"

I almost never click links unless my friend verifies that it's a real link and not a hoax or anything. :P

right click the link they IM you and then click 'reveal url' or whatever and it'll show the URL. If it's a exe then definately don't click it...if it's a JPG you should save it to your comp, but don't click it, then scan it with antivirus. if it's avirus don't click it

that's if your really wanna see the pic and you don't know if yur friend is kidding around or not.

Thank God for Macs!
I remember Eddie sending it to me.
I clicked it, not knowing any better.
I downloaded the .exe file, but nothing happened.
'Cause Macs don't have a default application to open .exe files.

w00t!!
Suckahs.

yeah, there are lots of viruses like that. i know people that click on links and their profile gets hacked and changed to some advertisement for a website. it sucks because no matter how many times they change it, its still there. that happened to me once...it was something like " omg look who's picture i found on .... [insert link here] "

i got the I.M. and stupidly i clicked and downloaded. i thought it was some sort of like funny video or something. Well anyway, after i downloaded this stupid desktop shortcut popped up that i couldnt delete, and i didnt really think about it because i didnt think it was part of the im. about a day later, a whole bunch of im windows of different people pooped up simutaneoulsly. THE LINK SENT TO EVERYBODY ON MY LIST!!. so i had to im everybody and tell them not to click on it and download. It was a real pain to get it off manually with norton antivirus, but now its gone!! woopee.

Yeah. Don't go into chatrooms because those damned bots will save your SN and they will IM you with that kind of junk. That's happened to me before, but obviously, I just tell them to screw off or not look at it at all. Tons of sexbots, NOT COOL. Don't fall for it. stubborn.gif
