I am very interested in what you think...because that is how it works for me. i am super girly, and the oppisite of girly is pretty much skater. and i LUV the skaters. and pretty much all the skaters like me...but wouldnt you think that the skaters would like the skaters?

Maybe they like people who aren't like them. Maybe their getting bored of the same people? I really really have no idea.

Yeah, sometimes they might. I'm really shy, but I would go for an outgoing guy. And my boyfriend and I are kinda opposite in that way; but our opposites compliment each other.

Think of it this way....if you fell in love with someone with everything in common with you, don't you think that the relationship would be a little boring???

i think they do because my friends have been with many guys but the guys that are diffrent from them tend to last longer in a relationship than the ones that you have way to much in common.

and i agree with ^ it would get boring if you were in a relationship w/ someone that has alot in common with you.

I think they do to a certain extent.

like I'm pretty shy, not relaly really shy, but pretty shy, and I'm a singer an stuff. and I gotta tlel you guys who sing do not atract me...but hten again..must guy singers are gay so tongue.gif and uhh I like outgoing...but not TOO outgoing, othwise I feel like so dumb and shy aournd them, lol.

but I do see alot of couples where they are complete oposites, but somehow ti works out...you alwyas need one optomistic and one pesimist in the hosue...that way they complement each other.

same with my mom and dad, htey are pretty different, but they fit together quite nicely.

hmm

i voted yes. a LOT of goody-girly girls have this fatal attraction for bad guys. and sometimes, bad girls tend to have a soft heart for smart guys ;)

Um skating is just an interest. Just because you're a skater doesn't make you preppy or girly. I mean, I skate and I care about how I look. But.. I don't think the whole opposites attract thing applies for all because I find absolutely no interest in jocks and stuff. _unsure.gif

yea sumtimes they can work, but with the couples i see, its more of a clash of lifestyles that's keeping them apart. i'd say that yea, they can attract if there's comprimise b/w the ppl, but other than that, it can be hard to really feel the same about a relationship.

Absolutely postively NOT! My psychology book says no, proximitity, attraction, and SIMILARITY play roles in our relationships. It is better when a couple love many things together, instead of just each other.

Myer's Psychology book, read it, its great! I mean there are differences, and in some cases opposites have to attract, otherwise you know, everyone would be gay or lesbian. But when it comes to extreme opposites with what we value the most, it doesn't work. I hate war, it is senseless, stupid violence, and I think it should be avoided more often. I would be completely disgusted with someone who glorfied war. I have a friend that doesn't really like war either, he doesn't feel as strongly as I do, but we still have disputes on the topic. I say it should be avoided more often, he says that sometimes we don't really have any other choice. I say what so patriotic about getting your guts blow out all over the place, that the horrible ways people suffer and die over there is not worth being patriotic for. He says it is patriotic. We argued that one for awhile. For example, you have a guy, he loves kids and wants to make some babies, kinda like me _smile.gif , but his wife hates kids, they are little shits and she doesn't want to go through the whole giving birth thing. In this situation you have a big fight that probably means the end of the relationship/marriage. Same is true for abortion, you won't find a child-hugging hippie like me with a girl who is pregnant and wants to murder the innocent and adorable life that is forming. We have to work out our differences, with opposites you got a lot of working out to do, and if it comes to our highest value it simply will not work.

When they talk about "Opposites Attract", it's not talking about "Sterotypical Opposites". "Personality Opposites" is what it's talking about biggrin.gif

My friend and her boyfriend are total opposites xD My girl-friend is a cheerful, positive person, and her boyfriend is a quiet, broody and negative person. They argue a lot, but they fight like a married couple, so it's okay _smile.gif

Nobody cares what you are.
Whether you're a "skater" or a "prep" they only care if you're hot or not.

It's the truth.

I am usually attracted to people completely opposite of me. I am quiet so I usually go for guys that are loud (not stupid loud) and sponteous

it just depends on the people. like whenever i was watching maury one time, they had the most opposite people i had seen and they were desparately in love. hehe.gif like i said before, it jus depends on the people.
