Erm.
This probably would be easy for you to answer.
Well, you see, we're learning fractions. I'm the kind who doesn't pay attention in class. So.. well.. I know how to do it. the problem is, that the way my teacher tells us to do it is, well, a little.. hard for me to do. And confusing.

So, my question is, can anybody give me their way of doing a multiplication problem with fractions?
This is 6th grade math. It should be easy for you.. >.<

Like this problem:
2/4 x 5/22 = __

My way is a little bit.. hard. so, I really want to have an easy lesson of doing it, so it could be easier for me. _unsure.gif

Thank you.

you multiply the numerator and denominator striaght across duh
it would be like multiplying the 2 stright across to the 5 and same with the denominator
2/4 x 5/22 = 10/44

The answer isn't 10/88 if you're required to simplify it.

It should be 5/44 simplified.

You could work work it like this, too:

Simplify the problem so you don't have to simplify the answer. _smile.gif

Ahh, it's okay. I only pointed it out because I remember getting A LOT of points off for not simplifying the answers.

Again, it's a lot quicker if you simplify the problem before working it out. That way, you don't have to simplify the answer.
