Hi i use maxthon currently and i really like it, but ive heard a lot of nice things about firefox (it's more popular also...).

i was just wondering if anyone here has ever used maxthon // or if you just use firefox, what makes it so good (especially in comparison to maxthon) because im considering switching browsers.

closed, will add poll to other thread.
edit: argh, merging.
edit2: i changed the poll around a bit.

AOL's browser is not really it's own browser, it's built on firefox (previously, built on ie). Also, I merged IE with Maxthon, because it is not really a stand alone browser, only a superficial addon. I added K-Meleon and Konqueror to the list too.

Have fun with all the spyware, torjans and other shit your going to be friends with.

Also, you're only talking about Xanga. Jesus, try using firefox on other sites. Such as GOOGLE, or maybe even CREATEBLOG.

Heheheh, I still use IE :] Hey if it works, stick with it =| I don't think I liked firefox when I first tried it, so I reverted back to IE <3

edit; uLoVeMikeRoch
It messes up more than just xanga, it messes up MS on my friends pc, I despise that she uses FF due to her not being able to see DIVs correctly v_v

FireFox also takes up a VERY big amount of RAM while Maxthon can take up to 65% LESS

That's right
LESS, so... go with maxthon

Someone tell me ONE good thing FireFox has that Maxthon doesn't and I'll kick you in the face tell you three more things that Maxthon has that Firefox doesn't

I don't feel that this topic is worth reply , lot of people here don't

care about what they use ... that's why we see simple answers

like "Firefox for life!". Just cause their dad or friend told them to

use Firefox it doesn't mean its the best , and in the poll ... its shows

that Firefox is more popular ... there's a difference ... how many

people in the world only want to see their email and open work ... and

are soo novice in computers .. and how many people are there in the

world who's Internet is THEIR LIFE (like myself) .. i think maxthon is

better ... I've tried all the browsers .. and i found out that maxthon

is a combined browser ... Firefox and Internet explorer ... so

customizable , and very handy for daily Internet surfing .. ( oh and the line spacing is only so you don't get the feeling its so long ) :D

FF based browsers are the best. Not necessarily Firefox, but Flock, Seamonkey, etc.

I just like firefox... I like the plugins it offers, specially ones for linux users. But I mainly use it at work for FireFTP. Basically a built in FTP client that's really user friendly and gives you more control.

Edit: Wow, it's like a mix of IE and Firefox. Interesting. I'm still trying to decide which is better though.

(Hehe, I registered for this forum just to post in this thread.)

I've been using Firefox for a while, and the wide variety of add-ons is one of its biggest selling points for me. However, my computer is extremely slow, and Firefox does seem to take forever to start up. Since some people claim Maxthon is better than Firefox, I'll definitely try it out and see how it measures up.

Still, start-up time isn't everything. Firefox has FoxyTunes, Adblock Plus, a great new bookmark system, and a plethora of other near-flawless features and add-ons, not to mention its security. While Maxthon draws attention to its 1,400 add-ons, Firefox proudly boasts its collection of over 5,000.
