Well I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, but I will start it someday. I regret for not reading it when it first came out. I didn't really like reading big books like that, so yeah. There are different explanations about "Half Blood".
One of them is "Half Giant, Half Human(wizard)", In the book i think only Hagrid fits this.
The other one is like" Half Muggle, Half Wizard(witch)" and there are too many characters who can fit this one.

U cant kill harry, because there is still a 7th bok, and then it woundlt be harry potter and the bla bla bla...They can kill him in the last book, but I'll hate her if she does. who will die? well... im inclinded to believe lupin, as that eliminates the last non-hogwarts father figure harry has left, which i think would put him into an interesting emotional state leading up to the final climax in book seven. it wont be dumbledore, he's too important, and i woul dbe surprised if she kills hagrid because, well, i just dont see that it fits, really. just a hunch

also, i wouln't be surprised if one or both of the weasley twins were to go. i mean, they are important enough in the series that their deaths would make an emotional impact, but not enough that they would involve a drastic plot reshuffle. in other words, they work as a convenience kill. its an easy way of enforcing the dangerous situation which exists now that voldemort is back, without, as isaid, having to shake up the plot too too much.

Imagine someone like Luna Lovegood dies, i think it will be a character, you would least expect to die.

i'd forgotten her.. she was my fave character in book five, as well. hmm.. i dodnt really see much POINT in killing her to be honest.. i mean, in practical terms, she is nothing to the plot, other than comic relief at some points... i would be surprised if she recieved mor ethan passing reference in the new book.

meh... i hope harry manages to get over himself a bit. i men, yes its all well and good feeling sorry for yourself, but COME ON. going hormonal atpeople isnt going to defeat an evil wizard, now is it? honestly.. i just wanted to hit him a bit throughout most of the 5th book.

Wow, so many people who are automatically wrong. The first thing to know is that JKR has specifically said that the person who dies was neither Harry nor Voldemort.

There have been some good guesses though... The Weasley twins argument was pretty convincing, but I don't know if JKR would have the heart to force the funniest characters to kick the bucket... I personally hope that it's Snape, however, I think there's a fair chance that it may actually be Professor McGonagall. I mean, you remember how she got hit with all of those Stupify spells at once? I think that may have just been a hint that she's losing her touch. She's getting old, ya know?

Also, Hermione and Ron MOST LIKELY won't die (Sorry fanboys and fangirls, respectively). The three main characters, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are... Well... The main characters. It wouldn't be a Harry Potter book without those two along with him. AKA, Ron is NOT a pointless character. And come on, if Harry flips out like that for Sirius' death, he'd probably commit suicide over one of his other two friends. We can't very well have a Harry Potter book without Harry, can we?

Oh, and let's not forget the Dumbledore dieing theory. No. Just no. If Dumbledore (or Remus Lupin either, for that matter) dies, then I'll flip out and go on a mass murder spree, drinking the blood of a hundred innocent virgins. Or something.... I hope Draco dies. That whining little douche.

As for the Half-Blood Prince, JKR has also said that that's also not Harry or Voldemort. I'd like to go with the notion that Hagrid was it, because as you know, he's a half-blood, just not in the traditional way. But alas, I can't say that because it never mentioned Hagrid's mother being a Gurg, and nothing on his ol' dad either. He can't be a prince with no royal blood. Hell, maybe Lupin is the Half-Blood prince... He's half wolf, right? I dunno, JKR has been gaining a reputation for severe plot twists, no doubt about that. [EDIT: From the info on Mugglenet, I'm guessing Mr. Half-blood will be a new character.]


... By the way, off topic.... Who do you think the new Minister of Magic and Defense against the Dark Arts Teacher will be? I bet there'll be a new teacher, or maybe (God help us) Lupin will come back. I hope Arthur Weasley gets to be the new minister. It would be just like Dumbledore to recommend him, and you know how Dumbledore tends to get his way... [EDIT: Again, Mugglenet proves me wrong in that Arthur won't be the new minister. Dang. Personally, I'm not entirely sure who will die, but I'm not hellbent on trying to find out. Only a month until the book is released, so I've only got a month of waiting to do. But I agree with you about Prof. McGonagall. However, that's too obvious. Look at Sirius dying, for example. It wasn't expected and just completely random (well, not random.. but.. aklsjdf).

Someone mentioned at a livejournal, that Molly might possibly die. Not sure but it was one of those random spurts. I was kind of learning towards Aunt Petunia possibly dying, because it's obvious that she had to of been a witch, but chose to lead a muggle life.

As far as new DODA teacher, my guess was Tonks or Snape, who'd finally get his wish. But there had to of been some reason that he didn't make DODA the past five years (or more, prior to the book if it mentions it) so he probably won't get it the sixth year.

Never put into thought who would be the new minister of magic, but I'd presume it'd be someone that MAY have been mentioned lightly in the book, but not brought into play.

My theories always change upon someone else mentioning something with a bit of a "back up" to it. Now that you mention the idea of security, it does seem likely this would happen, though like you said, in the last book.

It made me think that JKR was running out of ideas and she just needed to fill some spaces in the book that couldn't connect unless one of luna's quirks were added. The plot of the story was too long for Luna to have been..."just a fill in". Her character played a role that many would consider to be important. Her father operated the news paper that ran Harry's interview. That interview itself helped convince many other students that Harry's story could be, in fact, true. Also, her character was was just introduced and we do not yet know the importance of her role in the books to come. In a book "series", it is not wise to jump to conclusions about the introduction of a new character until the series is complete.
As far as Serius is concerned; the idea of the curtain has left many options open for his character. Dumbledore himself said that he was gone, but we all know that he does not always reveal information until the time is right. It all seems to fall into place at the right time. If you notice, it did not show Serius' actual death. The curtain itself is still a mystery to Harry, and judging from past experiences with Harry, it will be something that will be given much thought in the rest of the series. It gives us readers much to think about and makes us yearn to keep reading to find out. Mark my words; I do not know for sure that Serius is still alive somehow (he might not be), but that curtain plays an important part for the books to come.

i hope luna lovegood dies. I hated her character. It made me think that JKR was running out of ideas and she just needed to fill some spaces in the book that couldn't connect unless one of luna's quirks were added. I was seriously disappointed with the fifth book. I almost felt like the Harry Potter books had lost their touch. almost.

I mean WTF? sirius dies by going past a stupid curtain?! for real that sh!t pissed me off. If a great chracter like sirius dies, at least give him a glorious death... not by freakin sliding through a curtain!

Luna's character may not have seemed like a crucial character, but she was in fact important. Everything in a book is important to it; Things are not just made to "fill some spaces."

Also, about how Sirius dies, not all characters need to die in a noble or glorious way. Honestly, there's obviously more to the "curtain" than what was written about. It's not like this is going to be the last of the books; There's obviously going to be alot of talk about how Sirius died in the next book, and maybe a futher and more in depth discussion about that 'curtain.'

Honestly now, there's no reason to get upset or something so trite and mundane.
