If this is in the wrong forum, I kindly ask the mods to change it for me. Thank you.

There's no doubt that it's easier to make friends online. When you become friends with a person on the net, you like them...NOT for their money, their car, their looks, nor their status. You like them for...their character. But wait! Let's think for a moment. Are they really who they APPEAR to be?

I'm a geek. Yes. I spend nearly the whole day in front of my computer and I have no life. I've met a wide variety of people in chatrooms and on Xanga. Nice people, perverted people, crazy (hyper) people, stupid people, (sometimes intellectuals but it's rare). However, the most I despise are the people who wanna act tough. There's always a few in a community. Even here in cb. I've been reading some topics and replies and there are some people who I've noticed bashing fellow members (clearly against the rules). And these people are senior members themselves!

A few months ago, I came across this really "tough" guy on the net. Yeah. He was one of the top operators in the chatroom and could kick you, ban you, kill you (whatever that means) from the chatroom. Just because he had AUTHORITY, he thinks he can push people around. That is just...wrong! One sweet day, I meet this "tough" guy outside. He turns out to be a 5 feet 3 inch midget and could have weighed (the most) 130lbs. I could break his neck like a F*ing chicken. Have you guys ever come across some "tough guy" wanna-bes on the net?

I don't spend that much time on the computer... tongue.gif

also, that guy that you met in person+plus on the net probably has real personal problems...if he feels he has to be "tough" to make him feel better...especially on the net...

unfortunately yes...

the way i see it, is that these people obviously have some sort of problem in their lives. same thing as bullies, usually it's because they have been bullied so they turned themselves in order to feel security.

most of the time i would just quietly stay away from these people, but since i don't go in chatrooms (i heard the saying "there are crazy oldies who like raping little kids for fun lurking on there!" one too many times...), it hasn't been too much of a problem.

Well the whole "Tough Guy" Image dosen`t always get you somewhere. But maybe this guy feels insecure about himself.Cause on the net basically noone know`s you so its like your little dream world you can be/act like whoever you are because in reality you want to be like that but your not so being in the chatroom acting all tough is like there way to be how you would say. "Not themselves" an maybe someone "Cooler" Cause maybe about 60% would say they act out of character to look "Cool" or to "Fit in" to be just like the crowd.

An Yes I`ve came across some....

...I wouldn't know...

...a majority of them are using the internet for control because they're so low on self esteem they need a way to boss people around because they can't seem to do it in person.

That's the sad reality...

.....I dunno though..this can be a pretty touchy subject for some people..

Friend 2: Yeah, right. Who would wanna go near your stinky ass?

^Dude, those "jokes" aren't even funny, they're just stupid and retarded.

Ah, but my child, these "tough" guys usually have problems with themselves so they look to take it out on people out of their physical life.

That is the only reason I can think of of why they would act like this.

I think it was at blogring dot net or the other forum site. I was a noob/beginner there and it was my first time chatting with the other members. and this one girl said that she was the moderator and whoever ask question about blogring dot net will immediately be kicked out of the AIM CHAT. that was the reason i came online because i wanted to ask few questions because i was really lost. so i asked... because i really wanted to know. because i wanted to submit skins (i didnt know createblog that time)... and the moderator warned me... i actually added her to my list then talked to her on her aim not the live chat... heh...so she warned me after i told her that im from blogring dot net and that im a beginner. yeah i thought i was stupid for saying that then she will block me or something. >.<;
