I was gonna make this poll earlier but I didn't know if a lot of people heard her songs yet, so now that it's been like, a couple of months since she made her CD and everything, whaddya think? Was Gwen better with the band or better off by herself?
I was just wondering because I think she was better with the band, but I still like her. But I used to obsessed with No Doubt.  ....  [edit] I just realized it sounds like she quit the band. Yes, I know she's still in the band but they're on a break. |

I say better with the band because I have heard her whole solo alumb and I am not to crazy about it. I have liked all the No Doubt alumbs

I think she was definately better off with No Doubt. Now that's shes left them and has a solo career, she sounds a little more hip-hoppish rather than ska/punk with No Doubt.

I don't listen to Gwen Stefani and the only two songs I've heard on her new CD are Hollaback Girl and Rich Girl. I don't really like either that much, but then again I'm not into her kind of music at all, so I can't really judge. I didn't listen to No Doubt either, but I think she probably should've stayed with them. It's cool to have a good female punk rock star.

i think that they are both equally good but i do like gwen's songs more than no doubts songs. i mean, they are all good songs but i tend to like the pop-y sounds of gwen.

definitely w/ no doubt. i mean, she still has no real talent (have you ever heard her live??!) but i was absolutely OBSESSED with her when she was in no doubt. i mean, i had practically every single CD and had a wall filled with pics of her. but now...shes just...eh..

Just to clear things up, Gwen is STILL IN No Doubt. They are just doing their own thing right now.
And I like No Doubt more than her solo project. |

She did an interview for mcm, its a french/belgian music chanel and she said they BROKE up. She's no longer in no doubt.

i love no doubt's music and gwen's solo stuff...
personally i don't think it's too much of a difference, both of them is just gwen singing the only thing different is the music in the background playing |

Gwen Stefani. I like her way better than last time. When she was with No Doubt. I didn't really like her. But when she become a singer by herself, it was lot better. I really like her songs, "What you waiting for?", "Hollaback girl", "The Real Thing", "Rich Girl".

I definitely think she was better in No Doubt.
It's not like I'm completely hating on her new stuff, it's catchy I have to admit that. But I just think the music with No Doubt was more of what I liked. |

the fact that their [No Doubt's] music has changed so much from when they first started out to recent and then Gwen coming out with a different vibe in her solo music makes the "this is better than this" dependent on what style you prefer. i personally like both. No Doubt's a liiittle ahead on my list, but they're both nice even with their different styles

Gwen has grown into her own self and I love the fact that her music is so different and she stands out alot from all other artists right now, not because of her experience, but her style and the songs she's producing. I think that she's better with out No Doubt, even though they were great together.

She's gone crazy since she went solo. I heard somewhere that those Harajuku (sp?) girls signed a contract with her and they work with her for like 2 years and in those 2 years they can't speak English at all around her. Then she was on TRL and said they were "figments of her imagination." Okayyyyy. I love No Doubt.

I like Gwen both ways. But if I had to pick, I'd say she's better off with No Doubt because that Hollaback Girl song is annoying me.

the sh*t she has put out now shouldn't even be considered music. Its total crap to make money, and I hate musicians who do that. I mean, no doubts music actually had meaning and depth...not just catchiness. I wish she would just ditch the lil harawhatever girls and get back with her damn band! i think she was better in no doubt as well.
but when it comes to the business and making more money i think she made the move any smart artist would do. no doubt was going downhill with their last couple albums, as they weren't as popular as tragic kingdom and return from/of saturn(bad memory). changing her style completely and going the different way made her more popular. you know what they say, sex sells. and we all know those korean bitches she has that go everywhere with her. haha. comical : ) |
