I just realized the stuff that was in my underwear might be my period. I noticed it like on wedesday and just changed my underwear cuz it was soooo gross. but the stuff in my underwear is like not red at all, it's not dark red, or dark reddish brownish. It's BROWN! I'm 12, and I don't know what to do. it's brown, is that normail? does anyone else ever get brown stuff for their periods? i just want to make sure it's really my period and not some reall really icky dicharge. HELP!!

That usually happens to me when I get off my period..
 ...but I kno what your talking about...maybe you should talk about it w/ yur mom....thats the perons who answers all my girl questions...

it's normal for it to be brown the first few times. i think it's cuz there isnt enough blood to stay wet, and it dries or something. or maybe it's just not completely blood yet. ask your mom for a pad. lol you're growing up!

well when i first start..its brown but as it goes on it turns redder. haha. But i did start when I was 12 so yea. maybe just dont worry.

phew! thank you every one, i'll tell my mom when she gets home. i'm so glad that it's my period.
it's so weird, i never even thought my first period would be like this i thought i would figure it out right away! now i have a story about my first period! lol, again thanks!

its dried blood. blood turns brown when it dries. it also happens the first few times.

Its most likely not serious but if you are really concerned with it I suggest you go to a Gynecologist because they are the experts and could percisely tell you what the discharge is.

don't worry, someitmes my blood is brown, someitems not, it goes all over the place, if I were you I'd stick on a pad and wait a coupel days, if it jsut stops than mayeb it's not your period, I donno, but if it is sitll comign out it'll probalby turn mroe red. eh, periodsare weird

yeah mine was brown the first time. dried blood turns brown, but it gets redder once you've had it for longer. don't worry.

When blood dries, it's brown. You probably didn't notice it until the blood had already finished coming out and had dried up.
