take your child to work day, yes or no?

for some odd reason, this year, our school district has made "take your child to work day" practically a holiday. We received a notice last week that stated that every student that was absent on this day (Thursday), would be counted as in school. So basically, everyone in my school will not be absent, whether they actually went to work with their parents or not. I'm really glad because I can stay home from school that day without anyone knowing that I played hookie. (my parents dont care)

Are you going to your parent(s)' work? does your school have the same rule?

I remember take your kids to work day. I never participated in it but I did use it as an excuse to not go to school. Both of my parents work at a mental hostipal...nothing exciting about that

We have Take your daughter to work day. I don't do it, though. I know a lot of people who don't. Mostly like everyone. And plus, my mom's work is boring.

That's awesome. I bet you don't have homeworks too, eh? Anyway, I wish we'd have that kind of "holiday" so I can relax all day, or watch my mom go back and forth from rooms to rooms in the hospital (she works as a nurse). happy.gif

hehe....my moms a stay-at-home mom, so i was thinking that i could "observe" her job all day. happy.gif

When i told her that, she got mad because she said that her job's the most difficult out of all of them, and that all because she doesnt get paid for it...doesn't mean that it isnt important. heh..i guess she's right!

Nope, my school doesn't do that. But it sounds cool, though.
But I don't think I would participate, I would rather stay at home.

Yeah, my school has that, except, there is a catch.

You have to have a signed letter from your mom saying u were with her, and what job she has. So, yeah, deff messed up.

I didn't go. Just because my dad is way to busy and my mom is a housewife. It wouldn't be that interesting.

We had that in grade 9, but people who didn't go to their parent's workplace had to go to school, so that sucked. I never got to go cause my parents were on business trips, but whatever.

my school always sent letters home to say that they didn't want us to participate.

i still wouldn't, because it would hinder our parents from doing their job efficiently, unless they were wonderparents and we were wonderchildren, except that doesn't happen.
