i have seen that *minimize* topic and i am definitely a victim of it...

but one thing even worse is that my mom logins my email account and look at MY emails, going on my xanga and read what i wrote there and my friends' comments.
one time i changed the email password and she gets hella mad at me.

anything happen to you like this?

You should delete your history.
*

yeah, you should definately do this, my boyfriend does...i'd tell you how to but i don't know pinch.gif

you should also probably delete the websites that are in you web adress bar

plus, delete your favorites and save all your stuff on floppy disks, give each of them some project or school thing name, and hide them somewhere...

that's so horrible that your parents invade your privacy like that...have you tried talking to them?

Nope.
The only time she reads my stuff is when she looks over my shoulder time to time. She knows I have a xanga, but she doesn't read it. I always delete my history.

My dad is computer alliterate, so I never have to worry about it. He's scared to turn on the computer, 'cause he think it'll blow up or something. wacko.gif

I'm really sorry your parents do that to you. Seriously, you need to demand some privacy ( in a nice way).

She wanted to know what it was, but i told her "oh no, that's all, what you see, that's all" heh and arghh my dad reads it, he hovers over me and read the convo or looks at what I"m doing..it gets me pissed

My brother and I had something similar to that. We have Verizon Online DSL, and you have different accounts (emails from MSN or Hotmail) to sign into. Basically my dad just made himself "head honcho" and he put all these restrictions on us. He could access our emails, and read our IMs (Only MSN though.) I got really sick of it and made a new email that he doesn't know about. whistling.gif

when i really dont want them to know, i use netscape, which i am sure that are not even aware of is on our computer

note: for all you firefox peoples there, i use that too

Actually, my mother read an e-mail I was writing once, since it was on the computer without shared accounts. She told me she wouldn't, that liar. _dry.gif It pissed the fuck out of me though, since she brought it up in an argument. Ughasjdfhwoeirj. But other than that one incident that I know about, I haven't run into that sort of trouble.

My parents know I make online friends, my dad yelled at me about it before, but I think they're cool with it now. They just don't know I meet up with people I met online irl. wink.gif

I had the same problem when I first got email..... we all shared a computer and we used outlook express... and dial up pinch.gif ... so sometimes, while I was at school and Mom went online, she'd download my email for me. And sometimes she'd look through it. (it really threw her off when in the middle of an email a friend would go "HI MELANIE'S MOM!!!")

Eventually I moved onto my own laptop and DSL. She still knows the password I use. But I've been so long without giving her a reason to check that she just doesn't any more.

But yes, clearing history and cookies? oh yeah laugh.gif

my mom doesnt really know how to use the computer, so she doesnt anything about my stuff.. like my xanga and my password. neither my dad... heh my password is hard to guess hehe cause it has a lot of numbers.

whoa, no way. Nothing to THAT extreme. I would hate it if my mom logged onto my email and read everything, and got on my xanga and read everythan. That's too much..Well i guess you can say that she cares enough to know whats going on in ur life. But still...no privacy. ah! as a teen you need privacy lol. When i was younger and we had aol, my mom used to not let me get online unless she signed me on. I hated that, aol used to kick me off all the time, so it was a pain calling her back over to re-sign me on. lol i remember those days

Omg, that is horrible. One thing I hate is being deprived of my privacy. You could go into your Internet Options and if you want it, I can tell you in detail. There is an option where your Temporary Internet Files and URL's in the address bar are automatically deleted when you close the browser. It can be inconvenient sometimes. -_-

Yeah, basically.
I'm not allowed to have a computer in my own room anymore.
My brother found out about my Myspace and told my mom to piss me off.
She screamed at me for days.
I was grounded a few days, but I put it back up after she cooled down.
I just delete the history and she hasn't found out about it since. shifty.gif

Gosh, my parents are evil. cry.gif
Supposedly, they tried to threaten me by cutting off the internet and was all like
"What is createblog? Get off there or you might get raped!!"
And I was like,
"WTF?! Its just a forum."
Then they eventually found out my password(by sticking up a camera in my ceiling to see whats my password), so then I had to change my password. _dry.gif

My parents are too nosy. _dry.gif

No, thankfully my parents don't try to track me on the 'net. They know I have a xanga, but I don't believe they read it. If they do, my important stuff is written in protected posts, so I should be okay.

I have so many freakin accounts in e-mails, bloggers & xangas they can't be bothered to go through them all.

However there was a time where my frd's dad saw my website on her computer and started reading it, then sending the web address to other families's parents the following day!!!!!

Bcoz us several families went on a holiday recently, so my frd's dad sent my xanga address to them and they read my site too since the most recent one was about the trip. I didn't find out until one of my frds in one of the families called me like at 3 in the morning. I then got up and edited the site straight away so that if the others check it in the morning, it well..........would'nt be that "MA" rated.

Thats all thats happened, nothing else. Parents can't b bothered

Once again I will state that I dont stay with my parents. I have my own room in my apartment on campus so i have the ultimate privacy. But I have changed my passwords to two of my emails because my friend figured them out
