you know how a lot of stuff we own have foreign letters imprinted on them?
Well, I find it incredibly humorous that most of them don't make sense.
For example, I have a lot of stuff from China. My mom brought this jacket here that has a tag saying: Mouth Valley. When my friends went back to China, they took these professional pictures, and one of them had a shirt on with the letters "little girl" imprinted (she was 15, not that little), while the other had the picture background saying "... I love you, I will forever remember you, you are my green grass..."

ps. they remind me of some inappropriate stuff... mouth valley... little girl... ok.. i have a dirty mind.

hmm.. that's interesting. Maybe they just take the letters or symbols that look most interesting. Maybe they make sense to other people who speak that language? Most people who wear the clothes (like me!) probably just think it looks cool, although I don't wear many shirts with writing on them.

teehee
it's funny when you go to those wannabe asian stores that have cards that have been directly translated.
they say stuff like
"i wish joy much you"
it cracks me up.
you'd think they're re-phrase it after translating it.

hhahaha i should know, my relatives bring to me so much stuff like that:
"so much blue cloud in this world and peaceful too."
my grandmother brought back a pink jacket from taiwan for me, and it seems innocent..but on the back, it says: NUDE CLUB with teddy bears all over it. haha, they probably don't even know what that means.
i never wore it, even though i was in the second grade, i knew what NUDE meant..
its pretty amusing now that i think of it, i wonder if i still have that jacket.

Yeah, those are truly mind boggling. My favorite kinds of shirts are the Japanese shirts with the fancy Japanese kanji characters on them, and when you translate it, the characters probably translate into "I'm a stupid person." And the owner of the shirt doesn't know what it means, he just bought it because it looked cool.

Lolz, I know aye Cariss!! All those weird translations from Korean, some don't even make sense! Majority of languages when translated into English are totally retarded but the language itself, its sometimes very meaningful.

I totally know what you're talking about! I had a shirt from Taiwan that was supposed to say "candy" but they spelled it wrong. And I have this stationary stuff...and it's supposed to say " How are you doing?", but it says " How do you doing?" It's adorable happy.gif And you know those Nike shoes from China? Some have that Nike sign backwards laugh.gif

Maybe they just use freetranslation.com to translate instead of hiring a professional translator to translate for them. I guess the factories are cheap.

My mom doesn't understand why I don't buy clothes in Taiwan. Mostly it is because every single shirt/pants/shoes/purse/whatever is either fake or has weird English writing on it. It is very hard to find something normal!

Yet, they do make US clothes. Maybe when someone tells them that the whatever is wrong, they change it and send the good ones to the US. Being the cheap people they are and to find a clever way to not lose so much money, they probably send the wrong ones to the little thrift stores, in an attempt to sell them.
