is there a way to get my text on top of an image? both are in separate layers. z-index isn't working in firefox/netscape, but it works fine in ie and opera. is there a different way of sorting layers? i'd love to know becuase i ran into the problem before but had to adjust my layout so there was no overlapping problems like that. i'm pretty sure with the layout i'm working with right now (dir en grey) i can set the image as a background and it'll be fine but for future reference, is there a way to sort the layers in firefox and netscape?

thanks!

note: i'm just messing with it right now so the positioning is a little off O_O

I know that... I was just wondering if there was a way to sort my layers without z-index. It works in IE because IE supports it. I don't think Firefox and Netscape support it. I'll change the background color so it's easier to tell where the layers are. I have 3 of them - the image, the left navigation, and the entries. I want the Navigation to reach all the way to the top where it says "Dir en" and then the entries can be under the group picture.

... It usually works fine if you put them in this order ::
Image, navigation, stylesheet, blog
The only type of layout I couldn't not get, on Xanga, to work in IE and Mozilla was a horizontally scrolling one.... >.o I'll have to work on that... -shrug-
You don't really need a z-index if you place the layers in the order you want them to load in, from top to bottom. It takes a little longer for the blog to load though...

If you know what you're doing.. you can set your margin-top IN YOUR DIV less, as in more negative numbers and that will bring your text above the image.
