yeah. timing is a bitch i've decided. let me tell you my little story.

at my dance class last week, my teacher pulled me and one other girl aside to talk to us and she handed us this letter and told us to read it and respond asap. apparently one of the teachers from my dance studio who taught the (for the lack of a better term) "higher up" classes is the choreographer for this big show being put on in vancouver later in april (april 23 to be exact) this year for the 2010 olympics. the letter was an invite for us to be a part of the 100 or so dancers in it. this was a huge event and it's apparently going to be televised across canada...she actually picked us to be a part of it, and that was an honour in itself.
the only requirement if asked? to be able to attend all of 2 rehearsals and the day of the run-through and show...my parents even said yes when i asked them. the problem? the day of the run-through/show i have a dance competition within the time frame i would be needed...and therefore i can't do it. mad.gif sad.gif
how frustrating! grr...
so has anyone else had experiences with crappy timing?

btw...7000th post. tongue.gif

aw, what a bummer...that's really not fair for u.
on the bright side, yay, 7000th post. congrats for u. happy.gif

i got into the all-city band in ny. i was like, yay, cause i really worked at it. then i got into this saturday program for architecture at cooper union college. technically, only juniors in their last semester of junior year and seniors are allowed into the program. i got accepted in my first semester of sophomore year. only problem? same day. both on saturdays.

i stuck with the program. it's interesting and fun. plus, i get to go to the city more often and just chill. happy.gif

Pfft hell yeah, I had to attend an art show where it was manditory that I show and explain my piece of art that got accepted into the show, the damn piece of crap I never even submitted but somehow got in. mad.gif That was the same night that me and my bball team had to attend a tournament we were invited too. I was hella excited about that, what sucks about that art show is that it actually affects my grade in shitty art class. The art show started 5 min. before the damn tourney so I was like.. f**k! I decided to f**k the art show and go to the tournament. I was about to go to the damn show and show off my work since I was like a couple blocks away from it, but I was like... damnit!! WHY?!?!? So, I flipped a coin, heads-art show, tails-Tournament

stubborn.gif It turned out to be heads, I was just like... why am I letting a coine decide?!?!?! SO I just ended up going to the tournament, my art grade was brought down 40 percent though X_X but I transferred out of it soon enough =D

Wow seventh thousand already?! How'd you get up there?! blink.gif

Ahem. relating to the topic.. I don't think I've ever had that bad of a timing problem going on with my events.. I'm usually okay with just cancelling the other. And the events aren't as important as yours or anything.

ive had timing things like that....not really as extreme as yours. ive had conflicting timing issues with different friends wanting to do different things at the same time.

heh i feel ya, kristen. cause it happened to me. it was the baddest timing ever...well it doesnt sound so important, but to me it is because i havent seen them or hangout with them in a such long time... like one time when we had to meet in saturday... i forgot that i had to meet my other friends from other places... so my korean gangsta friends and i supposed to meet at 4:30pm...and my fobby korean friends and i supposed to meet at 4:35pm...and since they dont want to combine groups as gangstas and fobbies... so yeah i had to cancel my gangsta friends... i havent seen them for a very long time...maybe 5 years? and my fobby friends are like 3 years that i havent seen them and they were coming from LA T___T;;; they were on their road trip hehe to alaska and they stopped by. the gangsta friends live in oregon and idaho so yeah heh... i had to go with the fobs because they asked me first... i had no choice. T___T;; so if im rich someday, i can go see my gangsta friends...if not never being rich, then i have to wait until 2 years again heh.

First, 7000? HOLY CRAP. lol.
Secondly, aww I'm sorry. That really stinks. Yeah timing really does suck. Even with little things like when huge projects that determine if you graduate are all due on the same day. Ugh, it sucks.

wait huh.gif

If i'm not mistaken, your missing the oppurtunity to possibly going to the olympics for a dance competition? Because that's what it sounds like to me, unless i'm missing something really big here blink.gif

...anyways congrats on the 7000th post flowers.gif

Yeah, don't go to the competition. How many kids are hand-picked for this? How many get into the competition? And plus, you're gonna go on television =]
and nope, i don't think i've had to choose what to do on the same day. I'm bad at making decisions anyways.

thanks for the advice and yeah thats what my friends said too, but i can't ditch the group like that, there's no one TO replace me and i've already paid for it...
and its not dancing AT the olympics, its an event about the olympics or something like that and i know a chance like that doesn't come up very often but sadly i can't do it. thanks for the support though everyone. _smile.gif i appreciate it.
