I think thats going to be kind of hard in text. I mean, I know how to do it, (except my hair is like massively long, like, to my tailbone) so, its going to be a lot differnt for different hair links. I think you need to find some site online and they know how to explain those things better..
Sorry I couldn't help |

hmm.. i really don't know how i exactly do my messy buns. my hair is really long & kinda thick (not really) so all i really have to do is just pile it ontop of my head.. lol. pretty simple! i also think it's easier to do with curly/wavy hair. straight and thin hair won't turn out right.. well atleast i don't think so.

Lol, THE messy bun.
1.Put the hair up in a ponytail. 2.Wrap the hair kinda like a bun around the base of the ponytail ...but loosely (you can let some hair hang down from it). Use a new hair tie to go around the hair..."messily"..heh 3.Well, that's it! It looks pretty w/ a ribbon Hope that helps, its hard to put in writing... |

my hair is straghit and thin. but i usually do it when its wet. so first, i put it in a pnoy tail. but at the last thing. i make it a loop. then i wrap it around just as a nother bun. and i take a hairtie and tie it. then [just like a ponytail] i pull to make it look messy. and yepp.

the ends of your hair have to be curly, and you need to have like short-medium length hair for it because if you have a lot of hair (like me) the weight of your hair makes the bun become undone.
besides, aren't messy buns really old? they've been around since i was in 6th grade, 5 years ago |

I've seen people just put it in a ponytail and then just kind of scrunch it up and put another hair tie on

Hmm, this is gonna be hard to explain. I guess wrap hair up into a regular bun. Then with a chopstick or some sort of thing to hold your hair together, stick it through the middle. You should have the end of your hair either up or to the side, which makes it look "messy". I hope this helps :].

Ok, wrap the ponytail holder once around your hair and pull tight...then wrap it a second time but don't pull the hair all the way through. Pull out some hair, jump up and down, and there you go XD

i think my messy bun looks BEST when i do it w/out useing a BRUSH ..and w/out looking at a mirror... cause a brush just makes it "NEAT" looking. ..which isn't wat you're aiming for..

Do a regular bun, but don't be careful. Ahah.
No, seriously. They're not hard. Just, do everything you would with a regular bun, messily. |

Flip your hair upside down, pull it back ONLY once or twice (don't fix out the bumps, stray hairs, etc) into a ponytail, wrap your hair around into a bun a few times, and secure the pony-tail holder. It might be necessary to use a few bobby-pins.

well what i do is i just tie my hair into a ponytail, then get some bobby pins and bit by bit i just pin it up in and around the bun it looks really great ( i have long curly hair but in sure it would look good with any hair type)
