I think I might have an eating disorder im not really sure. My friend Jake is always telling me I barely ever eat and its unhealthy. I naturally don't have a big appetite but I dont think he sees me eat at home. I barely ever stop eating. I'm 5'3 and weigh 110 pounds. When I look in the mirror the first thing I always think is "Wow I'm REALLY fat!".
And after I go through those periods in time where I eat alot I'll go through a period in time when I am just really moody and I barely eat anything and I'll also try to throw-up my food. I'm not really even sure if this is an eating disorder.. But I have stopped eating before, and tried to throw-up my food. But it never lasts long when I don't eat cause I can't stay away from food. So can anyone help me?

It sounds like you may have an eating disorder.. you might want to get help. It's very unhealthy on your body. Or maybe try to balance out your meals a day. It almost sounds like you have bulimia, which is where they go through a perioud of binge eating then fast for periods of time or throw up their food..

If you don't feel satisfied with your body, try exercising/eating healthier.

it could be a start of bulimiaAND/ORanorexia.

Bulimia: Cycles of binge eating and purging (Eating large amounts of foods in one sitting, then proceeding to rid themselves of the food through vomiting, excessive laxatives or exercising.

Anorexia: Self-starvation. Refusal to eat or maintain a healthy appropriate weight for one's age, height, and body type with an intense fear of fat.

millions have died from it.

It sounds sort of like the beginning of an eating disorder. Don't throw up your food!
I am the same height and weight as you, and people tell me I'm skinny! and, I do the same thing, eat not much in public, but a ton at home. So do not worry, you are not fat! Don't stop eating and DON'T throw up your food biggrin.gif

i would seriously talk to a professional about the problem before it gets out of control. while trying to shed a few baby pounds may be innocent at first, it can turn into an obsession that could kill you. not good. really, appreciate who you are and know that 110 is not a lot of weight at all. anyways, i hope you choose to get some counseling because it can turn into something really serious.

No! I don't think you have an eating disorder because i'm was just the same way! Or if you do have an eating disorder that means I did too. Like I used to pig out a lot, like constantly nonstop because I <3 food but then I'd realize wut a pig i am and how bad it felt to be constantly bloated. Like you sed, I wuld feel like throwing up, only I never actually did. So for a couple of days to a week I would eat very little, but eventually I wuld always give in and start out my usual habit of binging.

It's not exactly an eating disorder, just sort of an unbalanced diet. Now, I eat normal amounts of food everyday insted of too much or too little. I think wut u need is just to get self control and stop eating wen ur not hungry. And if you ever DO eat too much, dont try to throw it up, the best thing to do is wait for it to digest a little bit and then go outside and run or excercise to burn it off naturally. Excercise feels good, i'd recomment that. I was never able to get into the habit of healthy amounts of food until I joined the track team. Your teamates motivate you to work hard and you excercise a LOT. Since there's practice everyday, there's no time to pig out, there's only time to eat enough to sustain u for tomorrow's practice. If you dont eat enough, you wouldn't have enough energy to run, so you HAVE to eat. And another plus side to a sport: the workouts turn fat to muscle and you end the season with a toned body, yes! But seriously, just that one season of track has done me so much good, i even feel healthier now.

(i think i got a little off topid here, sry bout that)

Never ever throw up your food on purpose.

That can actual kill you, believe it or not. Doing it eventually causes a reaction in the body, which causes you to throw up everytime you eat something, which means you can die of starvations. It also eats away the lining in your esophagus, and can cause diseases. Do NOT throw up your food, there are better ways, I promise.

Second -- 5'3" and 110 is not fat, I swear. In fact, there's another thread in here on BMI (body mass index) and if you check the link she gives, I promise you'll come up average.

Don't try to avoid food either. It's good for you to eat. The trick is to eat until you're not hungry, and not any more. Don't try and eat everything in fron of you unless you're still hungry.

And excercise mildly as often as possible (i.e., take walks).

Things like that can lead to something bigger. You might want to talk to a guidance person or your parents or something.

I don't think you should tell any friends, though, to be honest, because they might tell the school counselor and then it'll be made into a bigger deal than it would be if you just told your parents... trust me, I've been in a similar spot.

I think you have Anorexia. It's a eating disorder that causes someone to starve herself. But you could have Bulimia. Do you throw up the food? Just try to eat regulary.

But take care of yourself, and try to start eating.

Throwing up your food IS A PROBLEM. It is very, very unhealthy. You are at a healthy weight for your height and definately not fat. Throwing up after eating is known as bulimia. It's a very dangerous problem.

it seems like you do have an eating disorder. it would be smart to go to the doctor and get help. it doesn't sound as serious as a lot i've heard of, but you still have a problem. check out with your doctor to see how you could get help.

and fyi, i'm 5' 4" and 126 so if you're fat, i am too. :] we all are.
