it is kinda weird.. but my parents never really told me i couldn't touch fire... and when I was younger, they'd still light the fireworks for me.

Hahaha, well, I never got fireworks until I was a bit older...like 9 or 10...

When I was 5 I lit a match from a match book. The hiss that it made scared me and I dropped it on a towel. NATURALLY, the towel caught fire. I guess you can say that was a deterrent for me.

So, yeah... that is kind of funny if you think of it

Same here.

I guess it is kind of strange, but my parents don't just give me a shitload of fireworks and tell me to go crazy. They give me a package of sparklers and a few other, "weaker" fireworks and tell me to be careful.

I may sound repeditive, but my parents never really told me I couldn't play with fire... sometimes, they go all psyco and blow out all the candles, but otherwise they dont really say much about it... or they didn't until my mom knocked a candle over and set a dish towel on fire. Now they just dont put candles around her anymore!

2: it's not allowed where i live. $100 fine for each one lit.

It's the same as not buying you presents every single day but buying you presents on Christmas. Same concept.

It's a HOLIDAY. There's less of a chance of something catching on fire if they KNOW that you're setting something off somewhere.

My parents don't care. They expect me not to be stupid and play with fire and blah blah blah. But I burnt my toe with a sparkler and almost set my house on fire a couple of times so I'm a wimp and afraid of fire now.

Oh, and if you live out of the city limits, you can do whatever with the fireworks.

Haha that's true. But on Indepence day, firecrackers are not illegal. But if the 4th of July past, it's illegal. I don't know... it's weird. After you made this topic, I just realized that "why are parents telling us not to play with fireworks when they let us play with firecrackers and fireworks during the Independence day." Lol.. that's kinda funny and weird. Well I know parents won't let you use it because they are dangerous and they don't want you to use it because you're not a professional to it.

My cousins and siblings and I just go to some store and buy a bunch of firecrackers and the parents pay. The fathers come out and watch us light them up, but a lot of the mothers would stay inside. Some mothers would come out just to make sure we don't blow the car up.
