Ohh dear.

Okay,
-you CANNOT get breast cancer from taking the pill
-the pill helps regulate your period, not stop it, unless you go on seasonale and then you still get it 4x a year.
-It will help with cramps and some help clear up skin
-You realllllly need to work on your typing.

I've only heard about the 4 periods a year pill.. no other ones.. I think you should take it the one you're talking about for a little to see if it helps you. Maybe ask a doctor if it's okay to take it first though.

i am on birth control right now, still get my period every month. but it is lighter and easier to deal with.

Same here. Last year I had this thing where my period came for 6 months consecutively without any signs of stopping, so I eventually started taking birth control pills to regulate the cycle. Yasmin worked for me after 3 months or so. happy.gif

But I don't know if regulated periods is what you're looking for. I suggest you talk to a doctor/gynecologist about it.

I'm on the birth control pill, I think thats the one your talking about blink.gif And yeah your supposed to take it the same time every day. [types out what it says on my little leaflet that comes with the box]

QUOTE
What to do if you forget to take the pill.
If you forget to take the pill please follow these instructions:

1. If you are more than 12 hours late in taking a pill, or have missed more than one pill
Contraceptive protection may be lower, so you must use extra protection. Follow the instructions for the 7-Day rule.
7-day rule
- Take the most recent 'late' pill and continue to take your next pills at your normal times and
- Use an extra contraceptive method (Condoms or cap plus spermicide) for the next 7 days (if you plan on having sex) and
- if your present pack ends before the 7 days do, start the next pack the next day, without a break. Do not leave a gap between packs. You will not have a period until you have finished the next pack, but this is not harmful. You may see some bleeding on pill-taking pills, but do not worry. If you do not have a period after the second pack, you must talk to your doctor before you start the next pack.

2. If one pill is 12 hours late or less
Don't worry. Contraceptive protection should not be affected if you take the late pill at once, and keep taking your next pills at the usual time. This may mean taking two pills in one day.

[Finds about periods and mood swings]

QUOTE
Are there any extra benefits of the pill?
Your periods may become shorter, more regular and less painful. Heavy periods may become lighter. The symptoms that often make the last few days before a period so unpleasant (known as premenstrual syndrome -PMS-) usually disappear. Long-term use of the pill reduces your risk of cancers of the ovaries and of the lining of the womb.

[Stuff about cancer]

QUOTE
The pill and cancer
The pill does give a substantial degree of protection against cancers of the ovary and the lining of the womb. An increased risk of cervical cancer in long-term users of the pill has been reported in some studies. It is uncertain whether this increased risk is caused by the pill as it could be due to effects of sexual behaviour and other factors.
Every women is at risk of breast cancer whether or not she takes the Pill. Breast cancer is rare under the age of 40 years, but the risk increases as a women gets older. Breast cancer has been found slightly more often in women who take the Pill than in women of the same age who do not take the pill.

Dark bars are the people who never took the pill.

I know you can't see the picture very will  pinch.gif so I typed up the statistics. The numbers at top are the ages (obviously) and the numbers next to the bold stuff are how many breast cancers were reported.

there is a pill called "seasonale", and it really helps with your periods. with this pill you only get them four times a year. it helps with a bunch of other things too. im not sure about that it increases your risk for breast cancer. the best thing to do is go to either a doctor or genacologist (sp?) wacko.gif

wouldn't that be bad? it's like regulating your hormones, and if they are not on the natural cycle, i don't know. i think it would be a big risk, but it's best to talk to your gynecologist and by the way, how old are you?

i'm so with you...have thee WORST cramps in the world, midol does not work for me, i pass out sometimes, yea it sucks that bad. cry.gif

I dunno if i trust this pill thing yet cuz it is still relatively new, and i know some of y'all had to see those lawer commercials, for pills that come out for a while and then all the sudden they are found to be dangerous, even though they were approved by the FDA....jeeze.....it seems a little unnormal to get your period only four times a year, cuz my friend has to go to the doctor... because she only gets hers 4 times a year....thats ironic! LoL

But who knows it may be a good thing to look into, the pill does have its benefits.

As for the breast cancer, yea there is a very slight risk, but then again deodorant(containing alluminum) has been basically proven to cause most breast cancers and they still sell it everywhere! Thats right girls throw away your alluminum deo! Bad. stubborn.gif
