I decided to post this topic since I'm bored, I don't know if there is another one. oh well. The scariest movies I've ever seen are:

Event Horizon
House on Haunted Hill
Mothman Prophecies
Signs

Event Horizon is the scariest movie I've ever seen, gave me nightmares.

I've never seen a movie that I thought was scary, but...

>Night of the Living Dead (even though it's old it still creeps me out)
>The Ring (but it was the jumpy kind, not scary)
>The Chucky movies (they make no sense- I refuse to see them because talking murdering dolls are the scariest and most ridicilous thing I have heard of)

I can't think of anymore.

^ LOL! thats a cute one, frankie!

to be honest, i dont think i have actually watched a movie that just.. SCARED the heck outa me and gave me nightmares.. but there are a few movies here and there that mde me jump a lot..

+ "the ring" - i think it was because so many people were talking about how scary it was that when i got around to watching it, it wasn't as "scary" as i thought. or maybe it was because i had reallyhigh hopes for it and it just didnt reach my expectations. it did make me jump at times though.

+ "6th sense" - just something about the walking dead that gives me shivers.

+ "the grudge" - that lil boy can be frightening at times

+ "texas chain saw massacre" - everytime i'm out in the boonies of texas, i get this image in my head of a guy with a chain saw running aroound >_<

+ "scream" - lol. that mask always freaked me out when i watched it. and i watched the movie when i was in the 4th grade and so, you can IMAGINE how tiny iwas then!

hahahahaha! you called it a remix. hehe

being a horror movie expert, i can tell you all that you're silly, because "The ring" and "the grudge" were terrible. hell, i couldn't finish watching "the grudge". it gave me a headache with how little sense it made.

but some movies that have actually scared me...

final destination- the whole "Death is after us" wasn't scary, but all the ways the people die are horrificly possible any day of your life.

texas chainsaw massacre (1968)- i'm scared of the entire state of texas now. hehe.

jeepers creepers- the scene in the daylight was really scary, because we've all probably driven on a long, desolate highway. as soon as night falls, though, it becomes really stupid.

open water- scratch "deep sea diving" off my to do list

the excorsist made me laugh.
saw made me happy.

all of M. night shamalan's stuff is stupid and predictable.

nightmare on elmstreet- gave me the creeps the first time i saw it, for some reason.

Anyone ever seen "Event Horizon"? It's an old movie, well not really old, I think 1997. But is an extremely scary movie. It is a science fiction movie. I insist anyone who likes scary movies to rent it. If you don't like a lot of gore, blood, and some nudity then don't watch it. It has Lawrence Fishbourne and Sam Neill in it.

Ok, what are you looking for:

1. A film with lots of "shocking jump" scenes.
2. A very creepy and unnerving film.
3. A healthy mix of both.

Something makes me think that they aren't exactly the cult classic type. Heh heh.

Although, The Evil Dead may still be an option. As it has a handful of "jump" scenes, as well as a decent amount of creepy camera angles, music scores, and gore.

The originals or the remakes?

The original Dawn of the Dead is highly reccomended, I couldn't care less for the remake.

Rasen, trash. Ringu 2, eH. The US remake, pure trash. Avoid it like the plague.

I suggest Hellraiser, Friday The 13th, Halloween, Black Christmas, The Thing, and The Evil Dead if you're looking for a healthy mix of creepiness and jump inducing scenes. They are all horror classics, but still real fun, real great horror flicks.

If you want something that focuses more so on the macabre and atmospheric horror I suggest Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Suspiria, The Blair Witch Project, Dark Water (The japanese original), Tetsuo The Iron Man, and Rosemary's Baby.

Aside from all those, you can always go with the "safe bet" that is The Ring.
