Has anyone seen/read the movie/book The Crucible by Arthur Miller?
I thought the screenplay was very boring in some cases. But when I saw the movie, I didn't think of it at all. It gave me a better understanding of the play

It's a very powerful movie.
Movie made me cry. cry.gif

Anywho! It's about the Salem, Massachusets Witch Hunts back in 1692. Crticial mass hysteria, man. Everyone was blaming everyone else for witchcraft and it all started with this bitch Abigail ( who I was in the play)

John Proctor looks like Jesus.

ahh i remember this movie & play. i have never gotten the chance to watch the actual play but i did get to see the movie starring Wionna Ryder. I actually liked the story very much and thought that it was unfair of what really happened. i think i was the only one in my english class that enjoyed reading the play :P

it's good to know that Arthur Miller had the chance to stick around to see how popular his plays became :)

My english class didn't read that. We read "Of Mice and Men", but, I love the witch trial things, so, yeah, I may have to read/watch that.

I read The Crucible last year. I thought that for a novel written about Puritan times it was highly scandalous and tight-assed....

I liked it... happy.gif

I kind of.. *ahem* fell asleep at some parts.. Bleh actually it was more interesting reading the story lol because there was a tape that my teacher played and people played the parts and yea.. we followed along. It was pretty sad about what happened. sad.gif Yea I read it this school year (junior).

I only slept through some of the movie because at some parts it was slightly boring, but then again my teacher would skip a bunch of parts in the movie. She said she just wanted us to get the jist of what happened, visually... that always happens lol.
