I'm a catholic asian. Heh. And even though I do beleive in God, there are many other religions such as christianity, buddism, hinuism, jewish, muslin, and a whole lots more. What I don't get is how evryones stories came to be. For some reason, I don't think that's possible for those stories on life could ALL be right. I'm not saying that I don't think that others religions are right, I'm just not getting all of this.
Adam and Eve were suppose to be the first man and woman to roam this earth, (In my religion) but that would means that there was some higher power in which they were able to concieve african americans, asians, mexicans, and whites all together. I also don't think that's possible. At times though, I think that all of this are stories passed down from generation to generation and eventually got to churches. Like I said before, I don't think any of y'alls religions are wrong. But my faith in God has definitly become much smaller after I've thought about this.

I'm on the same page as you....with doubting my religion. I've doubted it so much that I left it though. The thing I always wondered about Adam and Eve is that they had two sons, so how did they make more children? I mean, God was supposedly extremly against anything sexual between people who arn't married, but that means that Eve had to have made more children with her sons. Its' weird...

That's not true. Adam and Eve had children, and those children had children, and people started exploring and moving to different parts of the world. They started adapting to the geography and climate of those areas of the world. Which in turn created different races.

If you guys have any more question, read the bible.

That's why you read the bible (for your religion) in order to get more information about what happened. If you really want to know about all the religions and how they came to be then take a class about them or read up on them. It's not just that stories got passed down and got distorted. So learn about the other religions (and obviously more about your own) before you start to question things so much.

That's how religion is. That's why we're not all united under one huge religion, because we have different beliefs. Part of religion is just faith and not being able to prove everything.

Yeah I was thinking the same too... so if our great great great great great great great great great greatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt grandma and grandpa is adam and eve... how come i'm not white? that's what i not get.... but i still believe in God. the bible never mentioned asians in the bible, so it's kinda weird..... i always think this, but always foget about it because i was heedless to it. maybe after creative adam and eve...and like when they had kids... i guess God created asians, black people then... i dont know... but you know what? the bible chapters are missing... it's still scattered...so the bible is not completely finished... they are still searching for them...i hope the other ones that were lost, i hope they mention about how God created the asians and the black people too...

edit//

but to let you know, when God told this guy to build the tower of heaven like after it got built. God made all those workers speak into different languages, so I guess God changed their skins too.... I guess that's when asian people, black, mexican people were created...and sooo on.

The answer to how did all the different races come to be is genetics. Mutations, people. Skin defects.. and how do we know Adam and Eve were white?

i feel so confused when i doubt God at times. my mom said that only people that believe in God will go to heaven.. but if He made everyone on earth and all, why did he make people have different religions?
my dad, on the other hand, says God has different forms in religion.

i seriously have no idea. but i don't want to be an atheist. :/

I'm not gonna get too into this, i believe religion is a personal thing

i'm a unitarian universalist. you can look it up if you want to know more.

but it took me a long time to get to this point. i used to consider myself atheist, even explored paganism and shintoism too, so now that i reached a faith i am comfortable with, i feel that i value it more than if i just grew up with it.

i call myself spiritual, not religious. to me, spirituality has more emotion and joy in it. and ppl find this strange, but i do believe in Jesus, but not the christian god so to speak.

like i said, i don't wanna get to into this, i get too heated about these sorts of things. if you'd like to know more about it, just IM me brneydgrl185 on AIM.

I never "Questioned" anybody about their religions and I'm pretty sure it said that in my post. I'm just confused about everything. Like I said befoe, how did everyone'sstories came to be with some think its evolution and some think its Adam and Eve?
In a way, I'm starting to become agnostic too. It makes more sense that apes turned into humans than all of the religions.

I'm catholic myself and I respect my religion..but I sometimes am skeptical about the whole Adam and Eve and all of that. Religion is all about faith and just believing. The other day my teacher was talking about it in class and this one student said that religion is probably a way to control people and I thought about it, it does seem like it. Either way I still believe in God and have faith.

I'm Christian Protestant. And well.. I dunno.. all these stories, I just regard any that don't belong to my religion as "just stories". Hahaha, I realize that sounds incredibly narrow-minded, but *shrugs*. I think the different races came about after the Tower of Babel.

That is exactly why I'm loosing my faith.
I'm a supposed Roman Catholic.

Religion was forced in me, so I never really had love for it. I think of religion more of a ritual
I also believe the bible is false. Before the days of the printing press, scribes had to copy the bible word to word, but I think some slacked off, but some of their own stories in there, and walked off.

So yeah, I think I'm turning Agnolistic? Is that the term for it? ermm.gif

I was baptized and taught to follow christianity but believe in any of that crap? No stubborn.gif

I see religion as something for people who need something to rely to get through life, rather than muster the strength to do it themselves. I don't need a contradictory storybook to tell me how to live.

There are some people in this world shouldn't even be religious. They use it as an excuse for invading other peoples' lands, with grandiose illusions of an afterlife that can't be proven. They also use religion as a device for shielding their own ignorance and mental instability. What good are confessions when one can commit the same crime and repent several times over?

Plus what happens to those, like Joseph and such? Was it just in those story book times that there were those that had godly powers? What about us in this millenia? I see nothing like that...
huh?
huh?

I was trying to remember that word and it's Agnostic. Agnostic - One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism. I'll definately call myself that.

Many things just don't seem to fit in to religion. Honestly, if there is a God.. he made us far too intelligent to expect us to continue believing in him.

I am agonistic- leaning atheistic.

I was raised to be a Presbytirian (Christian Protestant). I left the church before confirmation because I didn't fit. I don't believe what they preach, I don't belong amongst them. I do attend Catholic mass every other Sunday with my boyfriend, though. I find some of the sermons quite interesting and entertaining, but I rarely take them to heart. Some of the things said are really insightful- but I take them from a different perspective. I take the scientific approach on things. It's that simple. It's the only belief you really can't find that many holes in- because it's what usually creates the holes. I've noticed in the Catholic religion, that when the Bible does explain something you are to take it literally, but when it does not, you're not to take it literally because it is figurative language. I find it kind of tiring. Because if you follow the Christian belief, God was spiteful and wrathful until he had his son Jesus. I jokingly refer to that as "He was just grumpy because he wasn't getting any." But I don't really believe it. I won't bash anyone elses views unless they push them on me. I don't take well to being told that I'm going to hell (which I don't believe in) when I don't believe what they do. So many people are going to go to hell of any of these religions are true.

The only religion that I find trustworthy is Buddhism. We know that it was created by a man (a thin man, at that.. not your automatic thought of a large fat man). He teaches self-discipline (go figure), among other things. I find this believable, but it is not the religion for me.
