My boyfriend is only 2 1/2 years older than me and it took my parents a LONG TIME to qet to trust him. But, the hiqhest I'd probably qo is 3-4 years, while I'm a teenaqer.

well i don't know since all my boyfriends have been the same age, but a few years difference isn't too bad...my parents are 5 years apart, and my mom is the older one.

Well.. CurrentLy dating someone who is 5 years older..haha..i don't think i'll go much higher then that.. ;x

No offense to you, but that is way too old for someone so young. You're younger then my little sister, who just turned fourteen yesterday, and if she ever dated someone that was eighteen, I'd personally kick his ass. He should honestly look for someone his age or older. At your age, it doesn't seem right for someone who can legally do so much more than you can. Hell, he's probably almost graduting highschool, and you're just graduating 8th grade. That really makes you wonder what his reasons are. I have never known someone that age who wanted to date someone your age.

And there is a MAJOR maturity/experience difference between 13 and 18 year olds.
I dated someone younger than me when I was 13.

It's different as you get older (usually past the age of 17) because guys really are fickle about the consent laws. I've gotten my fair share of "you're just too young," or "too much age difference," when I was around 16.

However, currently, my boyfriend is 22; four years older then me.

Well, for adults, my parents are 12 years apart and my cousin is dating a guy like... 19 years older than her I think. But we love him and he doesn't use her for anything. They were co-workers first and he's awesome.

For preteens and teens I don't think you should go any farther up than 5 or 6 years older. When I was 12 I dated an 18 year old. He wasn't my boyfriend, but we dated. And I've hooked up with a 21 year old and I'm 13 but that was just WRONG. Blah.. Don't ask. So yeah....

I'm 17. I went on a "date" with a 23 year old last friday. I don't really thin about the age difference, y'know? It doesn't seem like a big deal when you're with the person. Now the whole having to be 18 thing really sucks _dry.gif

15 and younger should not date older then 1-2 years.

No offense, but that most've been one pathetic guy to hook up with someone who is seven years his senior. My friend was twenty when he hooked up with a fourteen year old, however, it wasn't for a relationship, as it was perely sexual related. Never knew someone at that age (20+) who actually wanted to be with someone that was much younger and less mature then they were. It just doesn't seem right for some reason. Same with when you dated an 18 year old; that's just f**king weird. You weren't even a teenager, and probably in seventh grade.

I say just stick with guys your age for now, so you can just get the jist of it all, and as you're older (16+) date older guys.

haha, my boyfriend and I do the same thing.
We're currently four years apart, so when I was graduating 8th grade, he was graduating highschool. Granted, we never knew eachother until last year, but he always teases me about it and whatnot.

i really dont mind..the highest i would prob go for now is 7 yrs older... because older then that.. i wouldnt know how to understand why someone like that would like me.. :/

for some reason.. only older guys is appealing to me.. i would never date anyone who is younger... its perfect if they are 1-3 years older. i dont feel like being a teacher and babysitter. :P

*gasp* i feel honored! biggrin.gif yet sad at the same time. my old topic is ..missing? strange..never knew this many people would reply to this kind of topic. on the other hand, it is rather interesting to know people's opinion on age difference. when i first saw this topic, i thought it was mine. so my face had many expressions just now. >> _smile.gif ohmy.gif mad.gif happy.gif lol sorry, i was mad when i saw my exact topic then when i read that you couldn't find it, i was umm ..kinda proud that someone would make another topic like mines since they couldn't find it. ok, now on to my opinion.
i'll tell you when i find the right guy. laugh.gif cause you never know, he could be older or even younger than i imagined he would be.

Well while Im a teenager 4 or 5 years tops.. but when Im older, my parents are 11 years apart and I have a friend who's parents are 12..

So I really think that you shouldnt really marry someone and worry about there age, because love isnt bassed on that so age doesnt really matter in the long run.

Now I do think if a 21 year old girl Marrys a 94 year old man theres gotta be something wrong with that picture, lol

i saw it a few days ago, this woman was dating a 16 yeard old...she was 47? and the boy's own mom was 10 years YOUNGER than that woman wacko.gif it's so gross, i couldn't watch the whole thing because it was 10 and i was already really late sad.gif

this 15 year old who was this woman's son's best friend, got married to the lady, i think she was in her late 30's and his parents agreed to the marriage!!!

i am seeing someone who is 6 years older than me, i first met him when i was 18 and he was 24. i think it relays on the level of maturity if one of the people in a relationship is a lil bit older by 5-10 years or more
