cut it then highlight it! if u highlight it first.. then u'd waste dye on the hair u cut right after, am i right? but.. technically, it's the same.

Your best bet is to get it done in one trip.

Normally, when you go to a salon and get both done, they will highlight your hair, then cut it.

Might as well get them done and over with.

Cut then highlight... otherwise you're wasting the dye that went onto the cut hair, and you're paying extra.

Most salons will dye your hair, then cut it.

Also, most of the time, they have set prices, unless they have to use more dye (usually for thicker hair and really long hair) they'll charge more, but for the most part, it's one price. Highlights are usually more since it's more precise and time consuming, as opposed to all over dying.

okay, well now i just feel stupid. sorry for the dumb question! but yeah, now that i've thought about it, it makes much more sense to cut it first!!!

If you go to a salon they'd usually cut it first, to get rid of the dead hair, THEN dye/highlight it.

I agree, I would get you hair cut first then highlight because you'd just be wasting dye if you didn't.
