no, hizo would be the past tense of the word "to create," so the sentence would mean if hizo was used: he created the basketball team. <_<
i want someone who actually is fluent with spanish to answer plz. and it's not really for homework ^_^ |

QUOTE(XKali_chik_4_lifeX @ Mar 3 2005, 11:00 PM) QUOTE(CUTEBUNNY160 @ Mar 3 2005, 11:26 PM) These are actually both correct. The 1st one means "He made the basketball team"...she used it correclty buddy...trust me, mom & pops are Mex., and I speak Spanish, plus a bit of Italiano ![]() The 2nd one means "He is in the basketball team" which can pass for "He made the basketball team"...but if N E thing, the 1st one's correct. Just take my word. Oh yeah, "hizo" isn't only the passed tense 4 "to create", it's also passed tense for "to make"...don't "create" & "make" have the same meaning in English N E way? Well I hope I've been of help ![]() |

Yeah, hacer could also mean "to make". So XKali_chik_4_lifeX was right in "El hizo el equipo del baloncesto"

Yeah, use freetranslation.com. But remember to move the words around the way it sounds right because when you just go to freetranslation.com they would translate it the order it was written and that sometimes don't make sense in Spanish.

people, people, people. i'm in AP spanish, and if i've learned one thing over the years, it is that you do NOT use translators online. 90 something percent of the time, they don't translate it right. it's all messed up. and another thing, you CANNOT use "hacer" for "he MADE the basketball team". hacer means to do or make as in i do something, or i make my bed. hacer is mostly used for "to do".

Girl...I've been speaking Spanish since I could speak! U COULD use "hacer" for "to make" the basketball team!!! YES U CAN!!! Fluent speaker for 18 years here! Who knows more, someone who took maybe 4 years of Spanish in school (with all do respect, of course), or someone who has spoken it all their life? But wutever, no need 4 stupid petty arguments...but yeah. Hope everyone's doing good ![]() |
