I like imports..(Yes I know I'm a girl lol). But really, I don't care what kind of car I get as long as I can fix it up and make it fast...It's all about the speed for me =].

For trucks and SUVs, only the domestic brands are the pros at it, yet they suck when it comes to family cars.
However the Chrysler 300C with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and rear-wheel-drive... ![]() Is the first domestic luxury car in years I have ever been so excited of. I've driven it and I must say my God this thing is a f**king beast when you mash the throttle! And it looks like a mini Bentley in person. But I'm still somewhat loyal to European imports, although new Mercedes are plastic garbage and the new BMW's ugliness. I'm not really into Japanese, but Nissan-Infiniti and Subaru vehicles hot these days. |

QUOTE(tkproduce @ May 27 2004, 7:43 AM) depends on where you live doesn't it? Well, somewhat. In fact most of the global car makers are owned under US companies. So perhaps if I buy a brand-new Volvo or Jaguar, most of that money will go to parent company Ford. |

ok for some strange reason most of my family has fords, jeeps, mercurys, and lincolns- personally i like imports like honda, nissan, and the exotic ones like lamborghinis because they have a more unique look and are sleeker- domestics are just plain and boxy and need to be repaired alot

domestics r the best hands down....u can get a hell of alot more horsepower and torque and theres alot more u can do to them like super charger, turbo, intercooler, stroker, intakes, exhaust, not to mention nitrous, all sorts of set ups on the tranny and rear end for netype of racing ever made.......if i took my 5.0 and put a vortech or paxton supercharger on it and stroked it to 347 and built the engine up to handle the power.....i could have a good 700 hp and 650lb/ft of torque.....any lil import or ricer u would be lucky to get 300hp out of w/ all that done.....but u can think wat u want

The good thing about domestics is that they are cheap to fix up and you get PLENTY of horsepower out of small mods, whereas imports you have to spend a whole lot (if you want it done right) to get some horsepower. Even with this said, I prefer imports because of the many choices you can do (turbo, supercharger, NA; various kits/rims). Plus the style is more exotic.

DOMESTIC PWNS. V8 POWER BABY.
![]() ![]() I smoke so many imports with this car. Its great when you see the looks on the faces of the poor kids who drive the honda civics and get pwned lmfao. Blew the doors off them. Priceless. NOBODY in an import expects a 4-door, 3900 pound luxury performance sedan to whoop their ass, but THINK AGAIN. I pulled a 14.42 1/4 mile in my car and that was my first run. Dyno pulled 275 horses to the FRONT WHEELS. |

Domestic. Man, I swear to God I must be the only Asian on the face of the earth that likes American cars the best. I like how big American cars are, I like the powerful engines, etc. Luxury performance cars are awesome... best of both worlds.... and screw manuals. Who the hell wants to shift gears a bazillion times driving through 3 city blocks while going no faster than 30 mph? I don't give a shit about customization and I'll sacrifice speed for room... 'cause at 6ft 3in, I don't fit all that well into small fast cars.

QUOTE(fiji_kid @ May 1 2004, 1:35 PM) Seriously... Who has one in the Us... I gotta go domestic... The new Dodge Chargers coming out is a good 340hp stock... Two words... IMPORT KILLER... Im azn so what... You cant get a import to roar like a domestic... Acura Tl qtr mile of 14.25 at a little over 97 mph and pulls a 0-60 in 5.7 seconds not bad... I dont consider it a import or domestic... To me its another lux sedan And auroradude you said my Acura Tl was the heavy car... Yours out weighs my by a good 500lbs... |

The Acura TL has a 270-horsepower SOHC V6 and only 238 lb-ft. of torque. See..thats where it lacks...the torque which means more than Horsepower does. A V6 does not make most of its torque at high-end like my DOHC Aurora V8 does. If you do a lot of highway driving like me, thats where it means the most. At WOT from a stop, my car will spin tires like heck then take off. But once it gets past 4500 RPM man it opens up like a rocket.
When i raced a 02 mildly-modded Civic EX with a manual trans, he had me til about 20mph, then i left him in the dust and he stayed way back. Im going to see if i can get someone in a TL to race me and i will film it just for fun to see if i can beat it or not. I have 280 lb-ft of torque and 275 horsepower approx according to the dyno. I dont race that many cars, I need to save my tranny. If that ever breaks its a good 4 grand to R&R. |

But you gotta say 270hp for a import sedan 4doors is awesome... Sadly its a V6 -.- |

Ooooh wow VTEC. After a certain RPM my aurora takes the lead. 4000 that is. Quick upshifts too. The civic EX is a POS but it also has half the weight that I do. Gonna do some racing when the weather is warm this weekend. Ill show ya. Oh and when spring comes ill be doing a lot more |

QUOTE(auroradude @ Jan 28 2005, 5:13 PM) DOMESTIC PWNS. Dyno pulled 275 horses to the FRONT WHEELS. lol okay sure 14.4, scan the time slip then i'll believe yea a honda integra type-r runs 14s and it only has 195hp, thats like a 60 hp gap there and a 4 cylinder gap, care to explain? Yea thats right cuz imports with proper tuning can eat you alive ;p |
