I learned to swim when I was 9 or 10, can't quite remember. My older cousins taught me the basic technique to swim. So every day of the summer when I was 9 or 10, I went to the local park's swimming pool to practice. The more practice you do, the better you'll get at swimming.

I learned to swim when I was like 5. They gave mandatory classes at my school, and I remember every Thursday we were taught how to swim. It wasn't hard, it was actually a lot of fun.

It was quite easy for me to learn how to swim. My brother used to take me to the pool every day and teach me how.

I can't swim. blink.gif

I have a story:
I went swimming one day in grade four at a friend's house.. but I stayed on the shallow side of course. And.. I don't know what happened but I slipped into the deep side, and obviously I was drowning. I was soo panicked.. I like.. splashed a lot and.. I even waved my arms in the air! The adult there didn't come to save me though, everyone thought I was having fun and waving to people as in "Hi!"... but no.. I was drowning. Finally I was saved when I threw up into the nice and clean pool. whistling.gif

I learned how to swim at a late age and I took lessons for a long time, I think 4 years. I ended when I was learning how to dive, and that included one of my worst incidents which was when I did a bellyflop and that hurt like a mother.

i never learned how. (f**king typical black ass parents never did either)
well, my freshman year EVERY freshman had to take swimming whether you could swim or not. everyone in my class could except the black people. its really quite sad. we dont have anyone in our family to teach us so we had to teach ourselves. its been over a year and i know that i'm ok at swimming now.

my bad experience is 2 summers ago i had told some of my friends that i could swim so we went to the lake in our neighborhood and to swim in the deeper water you have to take a test then they write your name and birthday down so you wont have to take it everytime you come. well, i really couldnt swim and i didnt wanna take the test so i said i was my other friend (who wasnt there) and gave them her birthday to get my pass. i went in the water and somehow made it to the slide out the middle of the water. when i got there, it was scared to go down the slide so i tried to swim back and almost drowned. i was all going under the water until the lifeguard came. she took the pass and said i could onyl go in the kiddie area...my friends joned' on me so hard about that. they were laughing....

sadness

I've been swimming since I was about 3 or 4.
I took lessons, too, from about 1st grade to 4th grade.

So..yep.
I do, in fact, know how to swim.

I don't really know how to swim. I mean, I do....but I taught myself so i'm not great at it. I used to like swimming but now I just don't go swimming anymore....after that ear infection, I became scared of jumping in and going underwater ><;;

Nope, I don't know how to swim.
A lot of my friends are all like, :gasp:, but whatever.

I tried learning when I was little, but it didn't work.
I never go after the 4 feet mark.
Actually, I haven't gone swimming in like, ever, haha.

I honestly didn't know how to swim until I was twelve.

Back in 5th grade, we would be put into our gym classes according to how well we swam, and of course... I was in the lowest - it was horrible, kids would make fun of my classmates and I. Definitely not a highlight.

Yeah, I can swim...my dad taught me when I was around 9. I wore those water muscles and slowly started swimming without them. Can't think of any incidents right now...I'm sure I had some though.
I didn't know schools p.e. classes had swimming...my school doesn't.

I started to learn how to swim when I was in 2nd grade. When I was in 1st grade, I was afraid of the water because I watched lots of shark attack movies and also scary creatures living in the bottom of the ocean. So yeah I was very afraid of going inside the swimming pool even though it wasn't the ocean, but still it's a water!!! Big tank water! Hehe... anyways I don't even know how to float. After my 2nd year of my elementary school. I got the hang of it, then I started to love swimming a lot. But in my half year of my 2nd grade, I got into an accident. But my swimming teacher didn't see me. She was busy teaching the other student's on rules of our school swimming while I was practicing how to swim. She was mad because I was scared to go to the deep water and that I was way behind at stuff. Yes I was way behind because I was afraid of the water. Anyways you know those board where you hold into it and you paddle your feets around the water -- yeah. I accidentally went to the deep water. I didn't know how to control myself. I was going bit crazy because I was very scared. Then I accidentally let go off my board and I went down... I drank some of the water ehhh. I think I was in the water for more than 5 minutes. Because while I was paddling, I saw the clock. It was around something _:45am... so yeah... and I came back up. I saw the clock, it was something like _:00pm... so yeah... somewhere around the 00's heh. It was terrible, but I'm glad that I got saved. So now I'm still afraid to go to the water now. Just thinking of it makes me very nervous and scared. Well actually I'm not scared of the water. Just don't want to because I was thinking I might get another accident and no one will save me especially the lifeguards because you know sometimes the teenage guys are busy looking at "hot girls" yeah...

Oh, I learnt swimming since I was a teeny weeny toodler. I had these mini kickboards tied to my waist, and each time the instructor would remove one kickboard until I learnt to swim by myself.
