My best friend's boyfriend doesnt cut. but does things to hurt himself because of what people do to him. He has a few cuts but not bad. Shes like cried to get him to stop but nothing she says works. and I'm close friends w/ him to. what do I do?

you can try to talk to him and say that your gonna be there to help him through .. i know guys that hurt themselves cause thye feel like shit T.T but you know i tried to help them and if it doesnt work ill just keep on being there for them and telling them that i care for them

I used to cut. Tell her to tell one of his guy friends [who actually cares] to talk to him about it. Nobody really convinced me to stop, till one day, my bestfriend cut herself for me. It really stung into my heart, and from that day on, I decided not to do it anymore.

Personally, I don't think there is much you can do.
I have been at both ends of a situation like this.. I've been the cutter, and I've been the concerned friend. Either way, it's a tough situation and it's hard to deal with. If you talk to them and tell them you care, they most likely won't do anything about their habit unless they only cut for attention...then they may quit. Overall, there really isn't a whole lot you can do. Talk to him? If he won't listen and it gets to be a really bad thing, then maybe talk to his parents. I don't know. |
