Should I be Worried? |

I was talking to this boy on aim and he said that he was going to kill himself. He said: "...im going to go kill myself, i am seriously doing it, im so depressed i just dont want to live anymore, and i will miss shelly the most, i hope you have a pleasant life..........". He is not my favorite person in the world and has a reputation of being an 'attention whore'.
I am a very gullible person and I'm just not sure what to think, he could be goofing off or he could be dead serious. No pun intended. Any suggestions?

Well, try to talk to him and see if he acts seriously or not....=/ sorry if i'm not much of a help. |

you could try to find out whats bothering him, but i think it's just attention. but who knows, like ask him, what made him feel that way and stuff, and if he doesn't seem too serious with his threats, just tell a counselor or something to help him sort out his issues

Maybe the "suicidal" people you've talked to we're just saying dumb sh!t for attention... First off, if this guy "wanted" to do suicide... then why did he tell you? Why couldn't he just do it? I had the same thing happen to me, I was really depressed and a boy i liked came up and asked me "If you were going to do it how would you?" I didn't take him seriosly so i told him a way i knew and He did it. I regret it a lot if i were you I'd tell someone who could help. call a hotline i have a few numbers if you'd like them. bottome line If its not serious and you call, you'll laugh at it someday, if it is and you don't call anyone, you might never get the chance.

They're ending their life to end their own troubles, only to create more for others. Is that being generous? ....
