How do export the files to read sever side of the html? right now when i preview on IE it work fine through my computer but when I put the HTML code on the input header on xanga, it wont work. I think it's because when I preview the html, the html file is grabbing the pics from my hardrive.
the thing is, i tried to rename the html codes to refer to the web server, but there's like a thousand codes of lines (from rollvers) and i was wondering if there was a better way to change the html codes. thanks |

Moved to Programming
you have to upload everything from imageready. did you do that? if you put that in your header html in xanga, it should work. |

Upload from image ready via ftp? What I did was, I used "save optimise as" on to a folder, then uploaded the contents (gifs) to my server. I then copied the code that was exported as an html and pasted into the "input headers" in xanga. (didn't work) can you please clairfy the correct method for uploading imageready files for use with xanga? thanks a plenty |

wait, did you use an html url? that won't work. it has to be an image extension. leave it as gif. don't use the code that was exported as an html. after uploading the image throught ftp, wouldn't it only work for your domain? try uploading it at imageshack.us. you don't have to register. get the url and replace it in the code. that's all.

Hello, I did not use the html url but i did try to use the code within it and copy and pasted it in the "input header" at xanga The service i pay for supports remote linking, and that's why i use it. I tried "onfinite once" but it advertises on my images plus it lags. when you say "replace the code" i was wondering where? the code i have with the exported html has hundreds of lines of codes. I'm not even sure where to begin. I really appreciate your help, thanks again |

ok, example:
i shortened the code by taking stuff out. so....when you preview the picture in your browser, at the top in "IMG SRC", it should say, "folder\snowman2cb8ua.gif" right? you upload the image from that folder and you should be able to get the code for it. then, replace the "folder\snowman2cb8ua.gif" with the url, in this case it would be this: http://img136.exs.cx/img136/6687/snowman2cb8ua.gif. get it? well i don't really know for rollovers, but you can go to xquizit_442. if you scroll down to the list of skins that she has made, there should be one called different. there are rollovers in there. you can check that out. sorry, i've tried to do rollovers, but it wouldnt work for me so i stopped trying. can't help you there. |

Hi,
Thanks for your help, I did try what you mentioned but i'm still having problems. I searched through my code but it does not follow the same <IMG SRC=http:// format as your code does. mine goes: <IMG NAME="bannermenu_30" SRC=http:// So i replaced each line with url, and still the images wont pop up. |

-_-" in order to link something on a DIFFERENT SERVER, you need to use the ENTIRE URL of the image/link from your server (meaning if you're trying to put it on your xanga, you'd need to use 'http://yourdomain.com/imagepath.gif')

Thanks people for your help
I just figured it out, well sort of, but the main problem i had was how imageready creates a folder within a folder to hold the images. so when i was editing the html with notepad, i did not include the folder directory where the images are EX. http://www.rollovers.com/img/rollover.gif (should have been) http://www.rollovers.com/img/gifs/rollover.gif my mistakes but thank you all for leading me to the way at least one of the buttons is working now with rollover on xanga, yay!, now i just have to finish coding the rest of it. |
