Did I spell that wrong? I not very good at spelling.

But what do you think the most dissapointing movie of the last year was?

I have to say "The Village" because it was spose to be this great scary movie and it was horrible.

You are so right. The Village was by far the worst movie i have ever seen in my life. It had absolutely no plot, and you can tell even the actors had no idea what they were talking about. I actually tried to understand the story but i couldn't. It is a giant load of crap.

I've never seen it...

But I would have to say the grudge out of all the movie's i've seen...
It's one of those movies where it scares you for that split second it scares you, but I thought the ring was much scarier..

Actually, the plot kind of sucked ( well... not the plot but the way the movie was showing the plot anyway.) but I love the artistic touches in the movie. The short scenes of which dementors were walking around the grounds and the changing of seasons.

Wth, I loved HP #3.
In fact I loved all the movies.
And the books.

How was the set/setting different? And how come they can't wear normal clothes? They had Hogsmeade, and it wasn't during school time so can't they wear whatever they want? It's not like this was back in the old days or something..

No but they got a new director who changed everything. And the outside set was different..

I was just dissapointed with the movie because #3 was my favorite book and it felt like they just changed it all around...

i think that the grudge sucked majorly. it was not scary! it was straight out stupid.

oh and napolean dynamite is also one of the worst movies. mtv's budget on that movie was lyk $50,000. and the sad thing is---that u could tell how cheap and pointless it was.

aw I loved that movie too! I think it is my favorite one so far=)..yes, I cannot hear enough bad things about the village..my brother saw it and he said that people were actually "booing" in the theater and walking out. well, I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but imo, I think that shark tale was overhyped and I was a little dissapointed.

i'm not 100% sure, but i thought napolean dynomite wasn't made by mtv- mtv films bought it at sundance and just distributed it, they weren't actually involved in the making of it.

Napolean was suppose to be 'pointless'. it's a DRY comedy. Watch it again and again, and you'll realize that yes, it's stupid but it makes you laugh. ALOT.

AND on to the topic .... I really enjoed the village. Despite what others say. I was definitly on the edge of my seat till the very end. And those 'monsters'! If I saw those ... I would've definitly been afraid out of my MIND. Either way, I thorougly enjoyed this movie. M. Night is an amazing writer and director (sixth sense anyone?)

Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing to this topic as you've seen no movies at all. I'm glad you can develop opinions on films you've never seen before.

You are indeed correct William .... MTV Films usually do not fund movies but instead buy out the films that they believe will be "hip". Napoleon Dynamite is indeed hip and fails on all levels of comedy

I'd hardly call Napoleon Dynamite a movie with dry humor. Have you ever seen British comedies before? Now THAT's dry humor. Napoleon Dynamite is far from it.

And while we're on topic of disappointing films .... I thought Napoleon Dynamite was the most disappointing this whole year. The Village in my opinion was actually quite good .... and much better than anything M Night Shyamalan has put out.

1)...that is what hollywood does to movies that come from books.
2)and you know they can't fit every little bit of the book into the movie it would be way to long..
3)also there was a new director they have different aspects of the movie

and IMO the 3rd one was the best by far from the first 2.
the 4th movie also has a new director.
*defends HP3* ( laugh.gif )

i didn't see the village because i heard it was bad,
i don't know about my dissapointments. i can't remember all the movies i saw.

Yes, I've seen British comedy .. and they have their own technique. Just because Napoleon doesn't follow their style doesn't make it a dry humor. The comedy factor isn't forced upon, yes there are some factors that are 'forced' but there are a lot references that are subtly placed, and that is what makes it such a good movie. No, it isn't oscar material but it still can be watched whenever you need a good laugh.
