My fam works hard.



We got some descent things. Tv, computers, etc.

On the outside, we look rich, but in reality, my father works two jobs, my mom works over time all the time, i work 10-12 hours a day.

I think we are poor. We pay all our bills by the minimum, and money gets tight at times.

i don't think we're poor. i think we're in the middle even thought we got a lot of debts. We pay for 2 houses and the rent of the bakery. We don't have a lot of money but somehow we always make it.

my dad is an entrepenaur (own his own business) and he has his own office and sometimes works from home.

my dad saves all of his money...we have a lot of nice things in our house...but hes not one of those ppl that blow all of their money on material things all the time.

the government considers us "upper-middle class".

Well, I don't care about you but.. I'M POOR!! and I'm not embarrassed to say it! I have about two or three thousand in bills and debts. My husband gets paid every two weeks and the checks are about thirteen hundred. But we have to pay bills and all that debt, plus we have kids, so most of it goes to them, clothes mostly. We're living right now check by check. Man, we need to start putting some in savings...okies, enough info.. See yah around.

i'm sure that everyone's definition of "poor" differs. to some, being "poor" simply means that they cannot afford everything they want. idk, i think that most CBers are pretty well-off. however, different families have different priorities and values.. for example, instead of dumping money on me for clothes and CDs, my parents choose to invest it all in my education, which they believe is far more valuable.

Yes, we are on a tight budget and save all we can. I get a lot of stuff I want, but partly I pay for it.

I guess we shouldn't judge people on their wealth/poverty status just because of the person.

This girl in my schoo, everyone thinks she is like, poor cause she wears the same thing everyday and has crappy clothes and stuff. But I don't think she's POOR, she's just not rich.

My parents work hard as hell.. I don't really think about being poor, I mean.. I can't really afford things for myself yet because I can't work, and my sister works and takes care of the family too.

I don't think I'm poor.. But I'm not considered rich either. To me, being rich is having anything you want and being spoiled and yadayada. And being poor is living out in the streets, with the exception of living in a house/apartment with no money to buy food/pay water bills/pay landlord/pay electric bills/is a dump.

There's a lot of things that I want that I can't have, but there's already a lot of things that I DO have.. and I guess I'm pretty much satisfied with that.

I think we look rich too, just because of our house. Our house is.. pretty damn nice, but it's really messy in the inside.

My extended family is poor. Trailor trash broke. My family is middle class. We live in a kinda crappy suburban barrio in a one-story house. All my friends are upper-middle class. They live in the nice "white neighborhood" with huge houses and luxeries that frighten me. Who has money for all that? O_o

poor? poor is when you need to count your money a lot and always make sure you've not buying too much. of course theres a point where you are just completely out of money and need outside help. but most people that are "poor" can definately afford food, clothes, and the necessities. Its all the other stuff that you aren't thinking of. a CAR for example. a car drains a shit load of money if you think about it.


but i think people are getting the wrong idea of being "rich". rich is when you have too much money to spend. very few people are rich. upper-class would be a better term to use. supposedly its like when the home income is $200000+ a year, but obviously you can't put a number to it.

anyway, there are too many ways to be "poor" i doubt that you're all that poor if you have a computer and an internet connection.

I think people are really poor when they start looking for money for ordinary things, like groceries, toothpaste, etc. if you're worried about what you're going to eat tonight, that's a problem. everybody has their own interpretation, though. i think i'm in the middle-lower class, b/c i have to watch how much i use for lunch money, and thats a problem: also i dont really get gifts and stuff, cuz my parents cant afford it.

I used to be filthy rich when I was younger...

We had a big, gated house, guard dogs, maids, chauffuers, designer clothing (well, I myself didn`t have much of those because I was 1-6 years old at the time), and cars (including a limo).
At one point, I even lived in a hotel suite.


Eh, I guess that is why I grew up to be so materialistic and spoiled.

Right now, I`d have to say my family is doing okay. We own three houses, there is no problem paying the bills, my parents have a stable job, and I get to receive most of the things that I want.

Same here! I look like I be "geared" up all the time with a fresh pair of shoes every month and new clothes every week. We have a nice big tv, a nice comp. and all them other goodd xtras. But we work REALLY hard for them. I wont consider myself poor. We too pay bills by the minimum. But we're not poor. At least we WORK for our shit. Some ppl are spoiled & get everything from their Daddy or Mommy lol. I think you can feel more proud of yourself if you earn things.

Poor... well sometimes it's not about money.

I rarely get what I want... But I mean I guess I can ask my mother for money when I need it. Money is tight for me personally, only because I hate to ask my parents for money. I try to use whatever I have, rather than saving it and asking my parents. My dad does work, though. We sort of have a decent house.. It's a house, at least. Sometimes money is tight.. :/ But I know some people who are worse off than me. But then again, I also don't have a job.. I will soon though.

My family is poor. My parents used to half own the house with my uncle. But since we need the money, we sold our half to them. Now my parents pay $800 dollars each month or year (not sure) for the rooms and the bathrooms we use. It's effed up because we're family. We could split the bills but noooooo they want money.

My friends think I'm rich or something because of my house. My house is big, I guess, but my family is barely making it through. One day we're gonna get kicked out of the house because my aunt's mom and sisters are coming over from Vietnam. My parents are looking for a house or a townhouse. But even if we buy one, we probably won't be able to pay the bills and everything.
