Oh my God...it hurts so much! I got it done in grade 8 and I almost DIED! It was so painful...ever rolled an elastic band over your arm hair? Feel that? Well, it's like a more painful version of that...and if you move your face, you start to bleed because the thread cuts your skin instead of the hair on your eyebrows. ohmy.gif I'd stick to plucking/waxing if I were you.

If you get them threaded, make sure you get them done at a good place. I personally only get them threaded twice a year (before states) It really isn't too painful.

Eyebrow threading doesn't include any puncturing, so you can stop grimacing now. It's just threads that pull together on a hair, and pull the hair off. I don't know how to explain it...maybe google it?

Wow. The responses are so varied...Now im a bit afraid to venture into the world of threading...id stick to waxing if its your first time, then you can pluck from there.

Lolz, when i saw the topic, I was like blink.gif "this sounds interesting"
But yea, I know what you're talking about now that you've described it.

Yes, its exactly like plucking ur eyebrows but ONLY with string, no needle or nything sharp involved! You'd need very good eyesight and be a professional, I have never tried it myself coz I don't trust myself.

Um, eyebrow threading is when you get a piece of string. Wrap it around your fingers tightly. And you sorta.... scrape wherever you dont want hair.

Really? lol What Chinese movies?

My mother's friend (who is Chinese, lol) did it to my mother and my half sister.. Not just the eyebrows, but around the face as well.. Well I heard it stung a little at first but then aftewards the pain sort of goes away and it's a lot better than waxing/tweezing anyway.

Actually, isn't it where you get like two pieces of string (I'm not sure if it's 1 or 2 pieces of thread) and thread it together a certain way. Then you put the thread on your face and pit at the string and it grabs clumps of hair and yanks it out. You pull the ends of the string in a certain way, I believe in opposite directions, and it grabs the hair quickly and yea... Something like that. I saw my mom's friend doing it to her.

Just_Dream... kinda like what you said... one piece of thread you just tie it together so its one circle then twist it... and put it against the hair and pull one end open... ok that doesnt really explain it... it sounded better in my head...

I get threading done. It hurts a little, but you get used to it. It's especially good for your eyebrows, because you get a more precise shape than you would with waxing or plucking.

It's in quite a few ancient chinese movies... (the only one I can think of now is witness to a procecution) they use it instead of shaving the face (on guys and girls ) as well as eyebrows. I've heard it shapes your eyebrows better too, but i've never had it done so I wouldn't know.

threading is actually suppose to be a lot better than waxing.

what they do is take a thread and twist it till it's a little kinky in the center then they roll it while stretching with their fingers. the kinky middle part moves around and leaves a hole. they apply this to ONE HAIR and pull. waxing rips out lots of hair and skin at the same time while threading pulls one hair at a time out.
