One of those days...
One morning I wake up and feel like the world is looking bright, But the day goes on and reveals another view to me, What once made me happy now fills me with fright, Now I don't think this is a place I want to be. It goes without saying I must live in my own mind, Moving, transcending, changing with time, Experiencing life through the daily grind, Teaches you that it really isn't sublime. Securities you claim, Comfort you crave, It's yourself you blame, But about others you rave. That feeling of loss drives a stake in your dream, Puts a wrench in the works of your every attempt, The star they said you were with a luminous gleam, Now a gaping hole with your hope turned contempt. And still you keep playing your show, Every wound you will mend, For what you now know, Everyday's just a means to an end. |
