Okay, I sort of need some help on how to flatten my stomach because all I do is fake it by sucking it in. It just bulges out sometimes and I get embarrased.
I need help... |

well, since you said you bulge sometimes... you could always wear a tight tank underneath. and crunches are magical.

yeah i know imma guy...in the girls locker room....get over it....
I've been working out for about 3 years now....it takes time your not gonna see results in one day....do a series of half way lifting sit ups to work your lower abs to define them. then make your elbows go toward your opposite knees in a pattern regular sit up, left leaning sit up ,right leaning sit up...regular, left, right..do this about 50-150 times..(This depends if your a beginner you should gradually work your way into more). Then do the full lifting sit up. regular, left, right...regular, left, right, in the same manner..to work on the upper abs..(50-150). after about a month - 3 months you'll see some nice results....trust me. if your only gonna work out one day...don't even bother. Hint: Make a schedule M- W- F- Sunday... give your muscles a chance to heal the day after the workout. without the proper healing you won't get any results. But you will gain strength. for definition on your stomach you MUST LET YOUR MUSCLES HEAL. well need any more tips let me know... later -Rico |

Sit up straight. Posture is key. Also do some Pilates. No candy, no soda, no junk food. Eat healthy stuff. A healthy diet and exercise will help you lose weight.

One of the best ways is to do a lot of cardiovascular workouts (like running and climbing, u can use treadmills or steppers). That trims your stomache. Try running or walking an extra mile a day or playing a sport.
Also, don't pig out! Stop eating once you're full. |

power abs!
we do them in gymnastics everyday...and you get really fast results. 20-- regular crunches crunches on one side switch sides feet in the air and do crunches straddle ups situps then do 15 of each, 10, and 5. work up to where you can do it without stopping and you'll get a flat stomach in no time. and if you suck in your stomach when you do these it works your lower abs even harder. |

take a knife...perferably butcher knife. put it under your boobs, press down on the knife, and start sliding it down your stomach.
it literlly slices the fat off!!! it works! order your fat slicer now at 1800-4. call now and get a seccond slicer! makes a great gift! |

sometimes i do crunches with a dictionary on my stomach, that helped..a lot.
and there's this exercise where you lay down with your hands under your butt, and you lift your feet three inches, no more no less, off the ground and you stay like that for 30 seconds-a minute before doing it again. trust me, i did that for tennis training, and the results showed. |

Crunches on a fitness ball.
You get a multi-tasking workout. When you do a crunch, hold it for about 3 seconds or so. YOU WILL GAIN MUSCLE WEIGHT! |

dude i wouldn't do sit ups i did like 1500 a day and it did nothing what i do is this thing where you put one of your legs on a ledge that is a little lower than waist high and bend down like you're trying to touch your toes of the leg that's on the ground (or if you can touch your toes, then do that, i do that) then lift yourself up and twist to the side your leg on the ledge is on. do that like 50-100 times on each side i saw great results. btw, try sucking in everytime you do an exercise, any, cuz that helps a lot

if you look in magazines like seventeen or something, they usually have like an 'healthy eating' section or a few pages which teach you how to get your body toned...esp for the summer
good luck! |

I'm sorry ladies, but crunces dont flatten your stomach. They strnghthen ur muscules. U have to burn fat to loose ur fat on ur tummy. Brunches will just push the fat father out. Take in less calories and add an aerobic exercise to ur lifestyle. Try walking for 30 minutes everyday. Eats more fruit and veggies. dont eat junk food. Thats the only way to lose belly fat. Take it from a perso who knows. I lost 30 pounds that way. My tummy didnt get any flatter and I did 150 crunches a nite. aerobic exercise and lower caloric intake is the only way to lose fat.

^ Nods, aerobics is the way to go and the classes are fun to take with friends. Though it's also a good thing to do crunches. Your abs help your back to hold up your body... you'll find that you're saving yourselves from back pain in the future.

Well, I have a really bad back, so instead of doing sit ups I sit up striaght and when I am watching TV or reading or something that makes me relaxed I constrict my stomach muscles. Every five seconds counts as 1 sit up. Five minutes=60 sit ups. So, you can get about 30 done during a commercial break!

All that does is strengthen the muscules, so if you do have a weak midsection its great, but u still wont lose belly fat. |

But you will gain strength. for definition on your stomach you MUST LET YOUR MUSCLES HEAL. well need any more tips let me know... later -Rico man thats good advice I feel inspired, I'm usually too damn lazy, I am really thinking of taking people advice, and work my @$$ off to lose this weight, you people rock, eprops for all! Oh yeah and some really good advice, don't eat for like 2-4 hours before you go to sleep |

1. Do not skip meals, you'll GAIN.
2. Eat healthy-er. [Walk around while you eat.] 3. Exercise, and not just sit-ups/crunches. You need to tone everything first. [Hard work, gotta gain muscles first, then you gradually lose weight... slowly.] Tip - When you do sit-ups/crunches, remember to breathe regularly and hold the crunch in the up position for about 3 seconds. Do not forget to do the obliques. 4. Keep an exercise schedule and stick to it. Tsk, tsk... those magazines has ruin society's women. |

get used to jogging.
a brisk jog, you can burn hundreds of calories in minutes. the only problem is building the endurance to do so. if you can jog regularly, youll see definite improvements in your body/endurance well it might be different for you since im a guy, but it DID work for me. |

I have a similar problem, but I have been eating healthier, drinking a lot of water and working out (abs, arms, legs), it seems to be working at a very slow rate.

eat right, exercise (like everybody else said), and avoid starving yourself and avoid the commercial diets and diet pills. most of the time, u end up gaining the weight and fat back after you end a diet

sit ups and crunches.
in addition to that..you also want to lose the layer of fat covering your abs. cus if you don;t..then it wouldn't really matter if you do all those sit ups if you have a layer of fat covering them. so eat healthy, drink water, don't cut down on like..ALL foods...protein is essential if you want muscle...and fluids..are..VERy important. but everytime i tell others that..and then i start thinking about it..i say to myself "i should really do that...." but then..after a week..i forget and become lazy. blah... |

not only situps work. that tones the muscles, but doesn't get off the fat from on top of the muscles.
last summer, at the beginning of the summer, i weighed 140. now i drink a LOT of pop, so this may not work for you, but i switched to diet pop and lost 20 pounds. o_o i still have a little pudge and i don't like it either..somehow i'll lose it before summer. |

ok well your best bet is to start out in a walk jog type deal. Like go to a track and walk one lap to get warmed up then jog one...encourage your self to keep it up...and not to stop. After you have at least one lap jogging start on a second around...walk one and jog two...then walk one more. Keep this up until you can go for a full job through out the whole time your out there.
In addition to jogging you may want to start on some sit ups. To make it easy on your self (so u don't have to have someone to hold your feet) put your feet under the edge of your bed and use that to hold your legs in place. Start off doing reps of 10...and keep working yourself up. Another good thing to do is drink A LOT of water...no soda (pop or coke depending on where ur from) ...And you may want to look into a diet of some sort...I have a friend who did some kind of diet where she only ate chicken and drank water. It worked well for her. To be honest getting in shape takes a lot of dedication. There are many times when u will want to quit. Remember this though...NO PAIN NO GAME...if that doesn't help...think of hot guys...cute bikini...no having to strain in order 4 ur stomach to look sexi... GOOD LUCK!!! |

bleh, it may cost you money for this, but you can try out DDR or Pump it Up . but if you don't wanna try it, then sit up, crunches, running around your neighborhood (maybe with dog, cat, whatever), sports like bball, cheerleading, etc . gah, i know people don't even read this anymore, but maybe some will .
