Drifting but it depends alot on driver ability...but with drifting you spend less time moving through the turn and you can accelorate out faster..or something like that

theres different types of drifting too like the show off kind and the high speed kind, maybe the high speed could be faster than grip. IDK

well hmmm....Drifting is good for like city/street races....oh and dirt tracks....but if your on a circular track (like nascar) that is paved...grip is like key in winning those races...so it all depends on the type of race and the type of road....i personally like drift

drifting is cool, but it's only used to show off a drivers ability to handle a car. grip driving is no doubt the fastest way around a turn in most cases, plus when it comes down to real racing, drifting eats up your tires like crazy. you'll be having to make pit stops every few minutes. if you've ever watched japanese vids with high performance cars, they usually race using grip driving, and the same thing goes for other types of racing such as F1, you never really see them drift around the corner.

so when it comes down to it, drifting is for show, gripping is for go.

Drifting may eat at your tires more but....in a single lap race....drift is better....your not lossing as much acceloration when using drift....and your comin out of the turn at a better angle to go.....with grip you have to move out side the then goin to the turn then out side again...thus covering more ground goin a further distance....with drift your goin it to it wide but go threw it on the inside and comeout on the inside....so you cover les ground....drift is faster

Drifters are gifted and talented. I give them much credit for being able to control their cars like that and sacraficing the time they spent to build and pay for it and lose it all when they hit a barrier.

Well the thing is drift and grip are always gonna be of relation. To be good at drift you'll have to be good at grip in the first place. Before you learn how to run you gotta learn how to walk right? So in a sense for those that like drift, you'll also like grip and this is true for many pros. There are so many people that involve themselves in both of these styles simply because being involved in both is a must because the skills compliment each other.

take a hardcore autocrosser and have him do a drift session vs someone that doesn't autocross regularly and you'll swear that the autocrosser would have had some experience in drift although he hasn't. He's learned the limits that he can reach with the car, weight transfer is mastered in grip and is a key to drifting.

grip, but as the corner gets tigher, shift to drift at a point. depends on the car and driver.

It all depends on the mood to me. lol sometimes I like a little oversteer here and there and sometimes I like it as grippy as slicks on tarmac so it all depends.

wrong, when ppl are racing grip, they take the best line for the corner witch is called apex ( iono if i spelled it right ) they go from the outside to the inside of the corner to the outside, you will pick up the most speed if you do that, thats why you see race car drivers doing it, they dont drift around a corner and drifting is not the fastest way around a corner.

sry for the double post guys

drifting is a lot more intense. Your drifts have to be precise and on the mark for good drifting and to win competitions.

Drifting is more style. Its def not the fastest way to get around a corner. Id have to pick grip racing cause 1 I dont have the resources to get the springs the tires etc etc for drifting nor does the reg joe. 2 I do not know anyone that drifts competitivly...

um. going to have to say grip. "zomg dr1fting is f4ster!!!!!!!" not every time. Grip is consistent. Grip is concerned with speed, finding the line, braking at the right time, etc. Drift, while definitely taking skill to do well, would lose a race (time trial I hope) to a grip racer every time.

theyre both completely different... but u said when racing so I chose grip cuz grip is faster than drift overall... drifting is more of an art, something to master and have fun with
