honestly, i have to agree. when i saw some of the skins, i couldn't believe that were accepted! but i am an offcial designer so mine will always get accepted!

i dont think people would honestly accept those really bad skins unless the admins said something about not rejecting so many skins... or at least i would guess.. because thats happened before when i was a mod, and then next thing you know, you've got like 10 really bad skins because one of the admins thought we held standards that were too high.

but just because they say that doesnt mean you have to accept EVERY skin even if you dont like it... try getting a second opinion from another mod before rushing off to accept it.

Yeah my standard for skins is pretty high. I really didn't want to send my skins to cb because I thought they were going to be rejected.

It's pretty hard to make a decent skin that pleases everyone.

I've noticed that lately too. It's nice that people are being a bit more lenient but...c'mon. The skins lately are pretty crappy.

I mean, horizontal scrollbars? C'mon. Un-antialiased text? Puh-lease. Poor image quality? I know we hired new Xanga Staff, so maybe we should educate them a bit about high-caliber skins? Because lately, they're getting sh*tty.

I understand that maybe new Xanga staff need things to do, but accepting for accepting's sake is just stupid. I think cB wants to be known for the limited number of great skins, not the endless flow of crap.

And Frankie, your skins are nice! Sure, you use Paint, but at least the image quality doesn't go down and it's anti-aliased. =] Sorry, pixelated font just really really gets me PO'd.

hrmm I'm part of Xanga Staff and I've only accepted like 4 skins (half of them are mine lol) because honestly 80% of them I don't feel should be accepted. Especially ones with poor image quality, jagged text and horizontal scrollbars. Many are formatted really badly and they don't even follow the guidelines for submitting a skin. I've rejected a few but those who have potential and just need to fix some things I usually PM them and tell them what to fix and resubmit it. I will not accept a skin with an unneccessary horizontal scroll! I do have high standards... the theme doesn't matter to me as long as the layout is decently done. Man a lot of crappy skins got through... but we still reject a lot of crappy ones too. o_O

yeah, skins haven't been looking so great lately. i've submitted skins that got rejected, and now that i look over them am GLAD they got rejected because they weren't good. still, i think the mods could be a bit more agressive and maybe tell the makers of the skin what they didn't like and maybe how they can improve

Actually, now that I think about it, some of the shit skins that have been accepted may be from the xanga requests forum since all requests must be submitted to createBlog. I think that rule is.. eh.. dumb to say the least, since not all skins made to fulfill requests will be of the best quality. Not in the least.
