I wear some designer clothing...but it's not all based on that. If I think something's cute, I buy it. Regardless of the label, because then that would be just silly!

I wear Ecko, AE, Abercrombie, Aero, Wet Seal, Gap, Baby Phat, Forever 21, H & M, Old Navy and stuff, but the brands don't really matter to me. Even if I wanted to wear all designer, my mom wouldn't let me spend that much money.

That's a hard question. I've always tried to put the definition into actual words. I suppose anything that is considered "luxury." Or runway shows that you can find at www.style.com.

So Baby Phat is NOT designer, if the above definition is used.

i shop at forever 21, H&M, and wet seal a lot...i personally don't like those big designer labels like the ones mentioned because everyone wears them...i don't want to wear a shirt and have like 5 people wearing the same thing or owning the same thing... ermm.gif

but i do really want this rocawear handbag cry.gif

i don't wear designer - i've got one real burberry bag at home from one of my relatives but i rarely use it...

in fact, for some reason i have this thing where i really dislike some designer brands (e.g. gucci, dior, vuitton, roberto cavalli) on principle (as in, why would i pay $1500 for the most awful or ordinary bag/pants/shoes i've ever seen?)...

More people (at least near my place) these days are going to the thrift store because in “up against the wall” the “members only” jackets are like $40 there while a thrift store like salvation army sells them for like $14… plus salvation army [or any other thrift store] has a lot of vintage stuff… it pretty cool, u just have to look hard. blink.gif

Nope, I just started making my clothes. Other than that it's something that I found somewhere for a low price...I think all that stuff is really a waste of money, I used to wear it. I just thought as long as I have some clothes on that I think looks nice and doesn't cost a crap-load of money I'll be fine. _smile.gif

If its cute to me I'll wear it, whether its designer or not. I do wear designer labels, but they're not a must. My favorites are Baby Phat, Rockawear, Ecko, and DKNY. Alot of labels are wayyy too expensive, though, and sometimes overrated

Nope, I buy whatever is out there and cheap

The most I would spend on a shirt is $20 or less
unless it's really really cute like some clubbing tops

other then that, I not really into the brand crap
people shouldn't judge you because of what you wear.

Designer is good for really nice stuff. Things that you want to keep for a long time, like jewelery or dresses for special occasions. I don't wear designer stuff everyday, just if I'm going out somewhere nice. If I had the money I'd probably buy it all the time blush.gif . Abercrombie and Hollister is basically all I can afford.

Oh hell no.
Hell, buy most of my clothes at Media Play.
Well, shirts anyway...band shirts.
Ha.

Um. The only clothes that I buy that could be close to being considered designer are the few shirts and pants I have from Hot Topic.

But in reality...that's it.

I have some designer clothing, a few sweaters, bags and pairs of shoes by marc jacobs, shirts by LaROK, jeans by citizens for humanity and antik denim and a versace dress.

Dressing in all designer is absurd though.

Oh by the way, the real baby phat clothing is designer. Not the dumb tee shirts and sweatpants. Their couture collection is beautiful.

NO. In fact, I'm generic girl pretty much all the way except for some shoes. Even then, I think the most expensive I have ever gone is Steve Madden.

I was reading through this thread though - damn, are all your parents wealthy or something? I was lucky to get a pair of Levi's growing up.

i wear "designer" stuff like abercrombie, puma, ralph lauren [but not that ridiculous priced stuff] if that counts.

but real designer? i have some designer jeans [seven for all mankind, citizens] and does a kenneth cole purse count? that's about it.
oooh and my ferragamo bag which was a gift.

Um.. sometimes? Lesseee.. I wear designer frames (eye glasses)? Does that count? lol :P

Hm... What would be considered designer? Ew no, A&F is not designer. Does Rock and Republic, True Religion, and 7 for all Mankind denim count as designer? Because I usually wear those.

I have some stuff from Guess and they're considerd designer, becuase of Marciano.

Aside from that, all my other clothes are from Express and some Abercrombie... -_-

volcom; hurley; roxy; element; quicksilver; hollister; ae; a&f ONCE in a while; california vintage; vans; urban outfitters; blahblahblah etc. the list goes on. volcom is probably my favorite with design stuff; like their logos & graphics on hoodies & shirts are always interesting. same with element; their tshirts rocck. happy.gif

EXACTLY.

people shouldn't like the clothing because of the label. I have come to learn however, that a brand loyality may be developed because people appreciate the quality of the clothing and trust that all of their stuff will be like that; thefore, they want to keep getting that stuff. I don't like it when people are designer whores or only get a certain designer label.

A&F, AE, HCO if those count but I don't really think so.
I don't think I have anything yet. When I get a job in like 2 years I'm gonna make $ and buy my favorite Coach bag and sunglasses, Ralph Lauren and Lacoste Polo and True Religion jeans. Until then...

Those aren't designers...

L.A.M.B, Coach, Nine West, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Steve Madden, some other designers from Asia, etc. But barely.

I own two dresses by Free People, and two skirts by Marc Jacobs. That's the extent of my expensive designer clothing. I mainly just own designer purses. I have a Chanel one that I've used SO much.

I only buy designer clothing if I know it's something that I will wear a lot. My style changes all the time, so it would be silly for me to spend thousands of dollars on clothing that I only wear for less than a year.

I'll just stick to BP and Urban Outfitters, thanks. ;)

My college student, $15/hr job lifestyle defintely doesn't cover a completely designer wardrobe. That being said I have about 10 pairs of premium denim, one or two lacoste things, a fendi bag, gucci glasses, burberry sunglasses, a few contemporary designer pieces and that's about it until I get rich. =p

mellow.gif Those are nowhere near designer. That's just like...brands

I really only own designer denim, but thats mostly because I can't bring myself or guilt my parents into spending that much on clothing. Once I get rich (ie, become a gold digger shifty.gif ), thats when I'll go all outtttt.

yay for us golddiggers! hahahah. but seriously, once I earn enough money, I'm going to spending most of my time in all-designer clothing. laugh.gif

:( i can't afford clothes from jimmy choo, chanel, etc. but i have accessories like a burberry scarf and gucci sunglasses. and i have to save lots of my money for that. ooh and purses. i have the sexiest ferragamo purse and that was a gift. i'm sure perfume and makeup doesn't count because most people have something like gucci perfume and chanel mascara.

and a few pairs of contemporary denim (sevens, citizens) but nope, no $2000 dresses for me...

but my new goal? christian louboutin shoes...

I probably wouldn't be able to afford it. Sure, I'd have one pair of victoria secret's underwear but never the whole attire.

Eh. Not really. As long as it's cute! Also if I see something at a designer store that's 10x more expensive, and I see pretty the same thing in Marshalls or something for half-price, I'd buy the cheaper one.

one of my life mottos: buy cheap, get cheap!!
designer clothing costs so much for a reason, you're paying for supreme craftsmanship, the best fabrics, unique design (how many A&F stores are there???), and the best fit. once you've worn a designer outfit, you'll wonder how the hell you ever got along without it! now i'm not a millionaire, but i do like to wear nice stuff like True Religion jeans, Sevens, Paige Premium denim, ella moss, BCBG, trina turk, marc by marc jacobs, and my coveted gucci platform sandals.
but i would NEVER wear all this at one time!! yeah rock the TRs, my guccis but keep the top and acessories minimum. wearing ALL designer is tacky!

Lotto, Nike, Adidas, Fila, Classic, Gucci , Armani and many others

About the above thing, keep in mind that anything is DESIGNED by a DESIGNER :))) so ALL of them are infact DESIGNER's creations.

The one difference between designers, its whom is more famous. I for one like better my Gucci sunglasses then Armani still they basicly look the same.

designer for "going-out" clothes but not really for "at-home" clothes. gotta have variety.

mixing up brand names and non-branded logos makes a person innovative and a real fashionista.

i think the best part about fashion is taking low end pieces and making them looking expensive...its easy to look great in dior or carmen marc volvo...but when u mix a carmen marc volvo dress with charles david platforms and a chrochet hat u picked up from target then you've mixed all elements of fashion and you haven't spent your life savings

Man, I can't afford designer. I spend money so easily... The only designer thing I have is Chanel eyeliner. It cost like £18... for a stick of black eyeliner. But it's good eyeliner happy.gif
