I don't mean this in any racist way... But some brands are just marketed to certain groups.

Do you think that Southpole is an African American brand? I heard it was... but then I've also seen nonAfrican American people wearing it. Does that make them wiggers?

There are many brands/magazines/tv shows whatever that may seem to direct what they have to offer to a certain audience. I've noticed a lot of black people wear that particular brand, but I don't think that makes the people who aren't white wearing it wiggers...?

i dont think it was generated towards blacks... but you just see more of them wearing it because its their style.. i got a southpole shirt from my aunt from x-mas and im white.. it doesnt make us wiggers.. i shop anywhere.. thrift store, hollister, hot topic, old navy, all those department stores... south pole is just a brand... like hollister... its made for all people.. but i have only seen like 3 black people that have ever worn hollister... i guess its just the brand/style they prefer most..

You mean like Enyce, Ecko, Fubu, and Phatfarm...
and how they're supposedly an African American brand?

And how Aero, Abercrombie, AE, Hollister and them are supposed to be for whites?

I know what you mean.

^^^ yea thats true

at my school its mostly black people that wear southpole, myself included. I've only seen like 5 white people wear southpole. They usually wear that abercrombie, ae, or umm...i dont know what else they wear. My school is predominately (sp?) black so its hard to answer this..

That's true that some brands cater to certain ethnic groups. For example:
African Americans: Rocawear, Sean John, South Pole, Ecko, G- Unit, Phat Farm, Baby Phat, Enyce.
White people: Abercrombie, Holister, American Eagle, Aeropostale (Sometimes asian too).

Although I'm not Africna American I still like Ecko Red because the Rhino is cool and Baby Phat because the cat is cute. The fonder of Ecko is actually white I think, I saw and interview with im a year ago and the founder of Baby Phat is part asian, so I don't think people should give you a problem with what you wear.

I dont think it makes them wiggers. I like South Pole clothes....If I had a SP store here, I'd buy stuff from there. I guess, you can say the clothes are kinda...uhh....on the "ghetto" side???

I've never heard of Southpole, but most brands are marketed towards a certain style, rather than a certain race. Generally you see people of different races dressing to different styles.

Hey, don't be so racist! Any kind of people can wear any kind of brand. And I've seen many white people wear all the brands that you named for african americans and african americans where all the brands you just named for whites. So watch what you say next time. wink.gif

i don't think it makes them wiggers. but it just mean that they like a clothing line that most black people wear. i think that southpole was made everyone but it is a majority of black customers. wink.gif

its true that southpole and rocawear has a majority of african-american people wearing the brand, but isnt it just like abercrombie and holister? same difference.
