I don't think you should get rid of signatures. It's how people can express themselves and advertise without spamming! It's also how others recognize who you are! We have 15 new staff, we could always enforce stricter rules for the signatures. Yes, some of them are big, but we could always delete them and tell the person it's too large.

But PLEASE, don't get rid of them! GAH!

I concur. Regardless of whether we have signatures or not, we still have avatars, which is great anyway. I identify people from their avatars as well, rather than their signatures.. Some signatures take a while to load, and I'd rather not wait 10 seconds for the whole page to load, versus 3-5 seconds. =P I'm really impatient, I know.

Although I am one of those annoying people who have pictures of themselves in their signature (yea? So sue me...), I really wouldn't mind having it gone...

ALTHOUGH, the majority of the members here have xangas, myspaces, livejournals, personal site(s)/blog(s), etc. Thus, they want to build traffic and be able to view other members' web blogs... A signature gives then the option to display their blong like.

In the past, there used to a be [www] link at the bottom of most members' posts.. and that was what I would click to view their site/blog/etc. It would be nice for people to be able to advertise their xanga, at least in their signature. :]
