Actually, they're not even prototypes. They're just fan works.

I heard XBOX2 is going to be called Xenon or something. Sounds pretty interesting if you ask me.
I also heard that there won't be a hard drive on XBOX2 because microsoft simply lost too much money by adding the builtin hard drive. THis is all speculation of course. |

I'm pretty sure Xenon is a fact, and that it not having a built in harddrive is also a fact. Though as has been said before, googling for Xbox 2 will just get fan art and what not. I'm guessing it'll be all black like the PS2, and the current XBox. Microsoft is trying to blend itself into the livingroom with it's Windows Media Center Edition 2005 and what not. It'll probably be made to be able to fit in a cabinet with other highend A/V equipment. It'll more than likely have HD output, maybe even componant output, and of course at least 5.1 surround. These are all things the current Xbox has, minus componant output. I wouldn't be surprised if it could even put out 720i which would be very nice, and would mean it would be a very capable piece of hardware. Since 720i is 1024x768 which is the same as most people's monitors. |

i was under the impression that it was called xbox next or something like that....hmm but im the only person i know who thought it was that so dont mind me! haha yeah.
anyways i like the style of the regular xbox better cuz yeah. plus i dont think it even looks real. |

i've seen that pic before.... it was on Gamepro magazine and before xbox came out they had some people draw/create a picture of how xbox will be.... but i havnt herd of xbox 2 but i have herd of ps3, it supposed to come out in dec. of 2005 (from psm)..... but one thing i hate about these systems is that once i buy one system they will come out with another one
   ....

Ok, got my facts straight
The next microsoft system will probably be called one of the following three, Xbox 2, Xenon, or Xbox Next. I don't like the idea of Xbox Next, sounds dumb. But it will be revealed in may 2005 and have a late 2005 launch date. It'll probably be revealed at E3 or that one other convention, forgot what it's called. Xbox 2 will come in several flavors, some will come without a harddrive, some with a harddrive and some with more media center funtions, like recording tv and what not. So it'll kinda be like Sony with it's PS2 and PSX. The next Playstation will be called PS3 and will be revealed in May 2005 and be scheduled for a lat 2006 launch. The next nintendo system called revolution will be revealed either march or may 2005 and be schedualed for a late 2006 launch. Revolution will not include internet capabilites because gamer's supposed "don't want that" it also won't come with a harddrive. |
