all of you sports players must have some. so lets share and wallow in our sports-injury-miseries together..and share any ways to help sports injuries. (don't say rest) tongue.gif

i play badminton and volleyball for school and over the years, i've gotten tennis elbow, jammed fingers, a pulled tendon on the back of my knee, shin splints, possibly tedinitis(sp?) in my shoulder and a messed up back.

usually, i either just ice my injuries or go to a physical therapist..but lately, it's not really working. so what are your methods of getting over your sports injuries?

I played volleyball forever, so I've had anything and everything related injuries...sprained ankle and fingers, knee injuries (meniscus and ligament), and shoulder injuries (bursitis and tendinitis), back injuries...

Best way to recover is rest tongue.gif , but if it's impossible to do so then ice and heat is the best to relax the muscles around the joints. If you play competitively, then always put ice on sore joints after every practice and games. Strenghtening the muscles around the joints will help with support and prevent further injuries later on.

I tried using those ankle braces before, but I think they tend to weaken your ankle even more... Coach told me once that it's because the ankle is depending on the brace for support, which eliminates the need to strengthen it on its own...

Once I ripped my knee and the side of my calf open in softball.
Someone was running to first and I was reaching for the ball.. it was pretty obvious I was going to catch it, and the runner knocked me off.
I still caught it, though. :D
She was out. >:]

Yeah, but I fell and basically ripped my knee and the side of my calf open on the gravel.
Hurt like hell.
That stuff hurts more than you think.

In gymnastics last year, I got lots of shin splints, but the worst injury was spraining my ankle. I was jumping off the beam, and my ankle went sideways on the mats below. I couldnt compete until the end of the year. _dry.gif

I f'ed up my nose high jumping.
5'4 kid jumping over 5'6.
It's weird because, any other given time my knee would never could reach my nose.

My knees started hurting a lot from running too much. All I could do was ice it and not run on it.

if you got all those injuries playing for SCHOOL volleyball, you must be hardcore. the worst i've ever gotten in volleyball is probably a few jammed fingers on my right hand.

I twisted my ankle playing bball, I got fouled hard, landed on my right ankle alone all funky which caused my injury.

After that I immediately started playing again but I was shoved from behind and I stuck my palms out, injuring both my wrist. Damn, it was hard to eat.

Sometime last year before I joined bball, I was playing softball for PE, batter hits that ball smack dab right in the nuts! pinch.gif

I play on my school's tennis team & one day at practice, I totally wiped out on the ground & skinned my thigh. Could barely sit on anything anywhere.

My only injury was a finger jam. Im not very athletic and dont play sports.

since i'm very flexible, i'm able to massage and rattle my fingers to get use to the pain.

Mine could be counted as a sport injury.
It was during my soccer season last year and I was skating in my front yard on our litle ramps in sandles and fell on my foot in half and tore a ligament(sp?).
I couldn't walk for a week and after that had to take it easy on the field, but my coach watchout for me. ^__^

I dont even know how many times I've twisted/sprained my ankle. I dont think I want to.

I manage to dislocate my knee at least 3 times a year and I've torn my hamstrings twice.
