school uniforms Options

I'm forced to write a persuasive letter on why should we have school uniforms, or not have uniforms. I can't think at the moment (since I gotta do Fractions in Geometry) so can you guys post your opinions with reasons?

Put it this way, you don't have to pick out what to wear everyday..thus u don't have to worry about what u wore a few days ago..bla bla bla..XD

i honestly wish that we had school uniforms ...

it's a good thing because the poor kids won't be discriminated against for not being able to afford expensive clothes, since we won't be able to wear our normal clothes too much, we'll appreciate them more and our parents won't have money conflicts

people think it's bad because the kids won't be able to express their individuality, and no one will be able to tell who is who if you catch a glimpse of them if they're doing something against the rules

we have to wear uniforms at our school..ugh..i have to write about it too but that was last year but anywayz, i'll make a list for ya about the reasons but i'm not sure which one ur gonna write about but here ya go anywayz...

why we should wear uniforms
1) when i asked the principal assistant why we had to wear uniform, he said that the parents wanted us to cuz they took a vote in the pta meeting or watever

2)so u wont be able to tell if they're in a gang or not by the way they dress

3)to keep us from wearing a certain kind of clothes like see-through (i dont know, i just now thought of that)

4)to keep from having fights about whoever's wearing the same as them or they bought it first and they copied them

5) so people dont have to worry about if ur wearin the same thing the day before or not becuz it's like u have to wear the same thing but with clean clothes, not the same one

why we SHOULDN'T wear uniforms
1) so we can wear our favorite clothes

2) so we can try different styles

3) so the kids dont think that ur wearin the same thing everyday

4) u can wear clothes that's ur favorite color

5) whenever someone brings a camera to school, u can look pretty with the stylish clothes u have on

6) and u can wear clothes that got pretty designs on them

Not really, ok it is but people at my school get into these long arguments over who stole someones style and fights break out. Sad eh?

no uniform= originality and style, but people at my PUBLIC school has been wearing too many inappropriate things lately and my principal issues a dress code AT MY PUBLIC SCHOOL. oh well

i think a school uniform is better because well it helps people with not having to worry about what to wear and having to go out and always buy new clothes in order to look good. also i think it will cut down on people talking so much trash about someone's outfit because it will be the same as theirs. another reason is that it helps people to not judge people too much based on their outer appearances, like prep, skater, etc. some reasons that it is bad is that it doesn't let the person express their individuality as much i guess, because some girls only way of getting attention is by how they dress, and well i can't really think of anything else at the moment. and also what do hygiene problems have to do with school uniforms?

I have to wear a uniform. I like my uniform too, its like better than the horrible ones I've seen around!

Having a uniform is good I reckon, coz I've chatted online with some kids who go to non-uniform schools in other countries and they tell me that I'm lucky that I have to wear a uniform.

They want a uniform because the amount of cash spent each year on clothing is like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ whoaz! Mn.......school uniforms aren't that fussy. I can chuck away my PE shirt now since its not compulsory for me to do sport now~ So yea, one thing less to wash!

I would have sooo many problems with a school uniform. I have enough troubles with washing my PE uniform often enough.

School uniforms make school look organized like the rules and ways of jrotc, and many other academies and private schools.
Plus it does help to stop gang related crimes, sometimes.

yeah school uniforms arent that bad.. i had to wear them i mean a little uncomfe. but still it's either that or have fights and repurcutions because of something stupid. also yeah onething you have to worry is some ppl dont kow how to clean them self's :( so yeah thats all i have to say. :)

i think school uniforms are really good to have.. when i was in HS we didn't have school uniforms, i kind of wish we did though, i mean alot of kids these days are having peer preasure or getting picked on because they don't wear the "right clothes" or are not "hip" i think its gay. so yes to school uniforms, everyone can be equal that way...

i wear a unifrom..this is why i think we wear them..First off so that no one can be made fun of by what they're wearing. Next, uniforms make a school united. So that what you wear to school is proper and no complaints. To show that you don;t care what people think

im in junior high, & our school has a uniform policy. i really hate it mostly because the colors are so ugly; boring. white/burgandy collared shirt over grey pants/skirt. its useless 'cause its just the colors; everyone wears different styles & stuff. the administration's excuse for the policy is so that they can easily distinguish intruders & stuff like that. but that's stupid, 'cause people can just dress in grey, & they wont know the difference... it disables us teenagers to be able to express ourselves & show what kind of person we really are... the only problem is that many people abuse that privilege, so it is taken away... i guess that's the purpose of uniforms: to punish us.

females uniform consist of short skirt about 4 inches or higher above the knee.
shirt and blouse must barely fit.

Uniforms are okay as long as they are like those cute uniforms like the Japanese girls wear. I really like those. Especially the ones from Kill Bill 1. That girl's uniform was very pretty. But if everyone wear uniform, it will be hard to find my friends then. I rather have them not wear it cause it will be very confusing and scary too. It's like they all are twins haha. Besides, I don't want to ruin my fashion!!! haha.

NO! Uniforms are def. not cool! see I go to a school where our uniforms consist of navy dress pants, a blue collared oxford shirt, dress shoes, and a tie. Any Coats or sweatshirts are unacceptale to wear in class, even though our school only has working heating in 3 rooms, All you can wear for a coat is the school windjacket or sweater! Uniforms are not cool. They give you no way to express yourself!

Why school uniforms are good:
1. No one gets discriminated against for what they wear
2. People wont get into trouble for wearing inapropriate clothing
hmmm....thats all i can think of for that one

1.People can show their createtivity by clothing
2.Can coose what they want to wer and when they want to wear it
