When I first came to U.S in 4th grade, I was sent into ESL and I would get confused between kitchen and chicken. Not that I didn't know the different, but the pronounciations always confused me. Haha. But I never make that mistake anymore!

Was I the only one? rolleyes.gif wink.gif

i didn't understand what the word "ghost" meant so around halloween she tried to explain it to me.
now that i think bout it the scary ghost in that room was her ahahhaha
anyways i still remember u in 4th grade i think my mom still has the 4th grade class photo with her oh so dear memories of her children growing up

My boyfriend can't make "th" sounds.. It either comes out a F sound or a D sound.

Brudder = brother, baFroom = bathroom

I think it's ADORABLE when people have trouble pronouncing something hehe :D I hope my bf never learns to make the TH sound.. It's cute when he says brudder and bafroom.. :D

omg same here!!! i had problems with kitchen and chicken!! like my teacher asked me to say as a sentence... and yeahhh i said my favorite food is kitchen >.<;;;;;;;; and also i said we have an old chicken, but it still looks like brand new. it supposed to be kitchen, but i put chicken >.<;; it was embarrassing for me, but oh wells!! i was an esl student!! no one cant stop me mwahaha... uh hum anyways also he and she... i thought she was a guy and he was a girl >.<;; i got it all confused T___T;; also their and there hehe... and then/than ^__^;;;;;;;;;

Can you believe that I'm still in ESL Class cry.gif sigh i wish she just put me away from that class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont want no more ESL...well it's EASY SO IT'S FUN! well i hate skits and presentations.. my teacher does it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooo much. anyways i got out of ESL when I was in 7th grade, but when i was in 8th grade... i moved to einstein middle school at shoreline, washington.. they gived me the test and i took it. before i took it, i remember that there was lot of korean people in the ESL class, so by getting to know them, i have to get in ESL class..so i pretend that i failed that test..............

and it's so weird!! whenever i tried to take the ESL getting out of the class test... i get so nervous that i cant hardly concentrate, then i lose my focus........................then i fail the test. it's sad and SUCKS!!

You really think so? I spent 4 years learning english and i think i am pretty good but my friends spent 10 years trying to learn chinese and they still can't speak chinese as good as me. i was in esl in arr... 5th grade. Wonderful times there.... i used to confuse chicken and kitchen and i can never say three... but i guess i got much better.

Not really sure.

I didn't have to take it. I was born in the US. I speak fine.

Spanish is technically my second language because English and Mandarin are my first.
I still get poder and poner mixed up. pinch.gif
That doesn't count as ESL though. XD.gif
