look, i kno there are topics on this already. but, how many of u were actually in the area? my family was about to go to phuket, india and maldives for holidays but they were all full. so we didnt go. we went to bangkok instead, and the king's grandson died. however, my cousin's were in india ( they are alive ). my uncle was in phuket.. he was on the 2nd floor so he is also alive.. but he actually saw fishes swimming into his hotel room. this is just sad.. everyday when i turn on the TV in the bangkok hotel room, i could see kids going "lost parents.. lost siblings.. etc." then 2 year old kids who are now orphans.. yeahh.. so back to the Q. was anyone in the area when it happened? when it happened i was actually sitting on a beach facing the pacific ocean, luckily it wasnt the indian.

It didn't hit Phillipines. Phillipines is too far in the east.

I live in Malaysia. I was supposed to go to Penang Island (which did get hit) on vacation but my dad had to work OT. Good thing too or I might actually be dead. wink.gif

I don't live near enough to the coastal area to have felt anything. Several miles away, everyone was getting headaches or feeling dizzy, which was somehow connected to the tsunami and earthquake.

I'm glad you guys are safe flowers.gif
All my relatives live in Korea, and Korea was too east to get hit, so luckily I didn't lose anyone in my family.

R.I.P. to all the lives that were lost though cry.gif

I saw the videos on Penang. If you were on the beach when it hit, you'd be immediately swept away or killed/drowned by the pressure and force of the water. Trying to run away before you knew what was going on never happened. But hey, i'm sure tehre were people that survived.
